Wouldn't his personality have alot to do with what he is doing and who he's talking to? People do have selective-niceness.
    It's everyday-life.
For example,I can assure you that I would receive a different response from a man, than a young pretty female would ,depending on the given circumstance.
We are all "guilty" of that.

I am all for everyone having their own opinion that's what freedom of speech is all about, the only thing I question is the circustances in your meeting. I have had lunch with this man and several conversations and he is one of the most down to earth people in this industry I have ever met. He is one of the few people who says (his words), I am lucky to make a livin2000g doing what I do. So did you catch him on a bad day?

Oh..a bad day" is always a good generic-excuse, I guess.
But, are you a attractive female or somebody in the business with influence? Hmm.
Yes, "circumstances" mean a helleva lot.

Well, if I simply caught him on a bad day then I guess it's been as such every time I have met him. I am an attractive, young female but have no influence in the biz at all. haha 🙂

Being a young attractive female is what I guessed.
Believe me, that makes a difference!
            (Heck..more power to you.)

Michael Pare.I have never met him, but I know someone who was behind the camera on a movie with him..more than once. He is one dude who is not fond of the tinsletown B.S. and the false charm that goes with it. He was not a child actor and came into the movie industry, for lack of a better word, with a bit of luck. So he sees The Biz from a different perspective. You know an actor by his character and this actor will take bit parts because he wants to ply his trade. This is the way British actors work as well. He has just a few scenes in the flick GONE..A superb movie and with his short time on film he does quite well. See the movie it is quite good. Perhaps this will give you insight into his persona. He has survived tinsletown better than most. Still handsome, and must lead a good life, his face does not look like "five miles of bad road." Thanks for your time.

I have known people who have met him and worked with him. Some didn't like him most did. Michael is a perfectionist. That can rub a lot of people the wrong way. Depending on what is going on, on the set can also set the tone of the actors. Also how you approach him may also be part of how he responds to you. He was burned royally by some fans after Streets of Fire came out. For years he was leery of getting involved. Luckily now he is attending conventions and greeting and meeting fans. Whether you like him or not, you have to admit he has a long running career. And at the age of 48 is still going strong and damn handsome!

I have met alot of celebrities and have talked with them several times. Alot of B-movie actors because I run a movie review website and what not. Having worked on sets and worked with them via interviews, I can tell you that the situation upon meeting th2000em makes a difference.
If you go up to an actor when he is on set and is supposed to be getting into character or he is in between a hard take, he may not be the nicest person ever. They are people like al of us and they have stresses, there problems are that random people come up to them and expect them to be the great person they have in their minds. It doesn't happen alot.
From the sounds of these meetings with Michael Pare (this is coming from someone who has NEVER met him before and no, I am not a friend or fan of his) it seems like he is someone who is a nice guy to people but seems to get caught off guard alot. It seems he was burnt like Joey said in the past by fans and now is having trouble with them. It's very plausible and reasonable for someone to reject fans if they get burnt to many times. At the same time, being rude to fans isn't right. Whether he is really a jerk or not, who knows.
I don't develop opinions on actors until I meet them for myself because for every "He was the nicest person ever story" there is, there are about just as many "HE WAS SUCH A *******" stories to go around. So

Cmonthe "getting into character" thing is a pretentious little saying created by th-ea-tre actors, and very embarassing. If an actor told me that, I'd burst out laughing.
He's in character when he walks on the set.
Like anybody else, there is 'selective-niceness; a pretty girl says "hello",and a man is oh so nicea man comes up to another to say 'hello", and it's quite different.
                              REAL LIFE,folks.

I have not worked with him, but I have met him several times, as just a fan, and he has always been gracious, courteous, charming, pleasantly conversational, friendly, relaxed and very generous with his time. I have spoken to many people who have worked with him, and all have said he is great to work with; very professional, friendly, and to quote several of them, "A great guy". All look forward to working with him again.

It's really easy to get on the internet and make derogatory comments. Pertinent here, is that the people responding - people who have actually met the man - are saying that he is gracious and kind.
If I had worked with him on a film, I certainly would not then turn around, and post negative things about him.
Give people the benefit of the doubt, sometimes we inadvertently offend others, without meaning to.that is "real life."
Personally, I wouldn't want to deal with what he deals with - this one, and that one, constantly clamoring for attention. Yes, he chose show business, but I think most people do not realize what they are signing up for.
Anyway, his new film, "Job," is going to be HUGE!!!
                                          Go Michael! 😃
