Im sorry to say that I cannot recommend his memoirs.
It costs $30 and I found four factual mistakes.
And it's sadly overlong, adolescent, obsessed with alcohol and a testament to an undisciplined wasted talent.

It's an excellent memoir, and there's more than four errors. I'm a book editor, laid off as everything's been offshore to India. Editing went out the window back in the 1990s when conglomerates bought the publishing companies and slashed costs.

"Undisciplined" his talent may be, but hardly wasted. And I am not referring to the recent Oscar, of course; I mean his fine body of work.
        Jonchopwood. I hear you.

What I want to know is if he's going to make a revised edition with a few new chapter in it after finally winning his Oscar. 🙂
That would be a good idea.
Maybe also including a description of his true feelings regarding the Oscar he didn't win. 😉

I know they were memoirs, so you don't automatically get an index, but I wished it had: or at least chapter headings.

I found it a fascinating read.
