Was Reiner's wife Nick's birth mother? If she was, he obviously had deep resentment for both of them. If not, she was just in the way.
A drug induced psychosis can make anyone snap, but I still feel there is still a lot to be told that needs to come to light. Perhaps Nick felt by doing the action that he did, it will bring something to light about who his parents were.
I'm still at odds and evens about the Menendez brothers, Lyle and Erik, but there were still some deep seated issues there. I doubt it was just for the money. They were spoiled and entitled, but these boys were ****ed up too in some way or other.

I believe Lyle and Eric were molested by their dad
One of their cousins was told about it
People say why didn't they just leave. They felt their father would find them. That they couldn't get away from him and they feared for their lives. Jose most likely threatened them. He was sadistic

I got a lot out of the Netflix dramatization of
Monsters: The Menendez Brothers.
It even implied that Jose himself was molested by his mother and his sister bore witness to it. There is a scene where Jose calls his mother and breaks down and tells her it was wrong and that his sister tried to call her out.
That show was a rollercoaster of emotions and the acting was sublime. Its like a cycle that wasn't broken, but Jose was also an egotistical narcissist himself. He found some sort of American dream, but it became tainted and broken. I recall that cousin scene as well.
Yes, those boys were afraid of Jose and the mother was bossy and psychologically cruel too, if there is some truth to what was depicted.

I feel that even though they killed their parents, they've done their time and are not a threat
There are murderers that get plea deals and get off with just a few years

The publicity surrounding the brothers and then the onslaught of the OJ case, it was like they became a scapegoat.
That last trial totally tore apart the defendants argument and appeared to lean bias to a skilled prosecution game. There were 2 dead bodies, the boys killed their parents but it was so much more than just money grabbing lust. The spending spree after the killings didn’t help their case either, but they just went off the rails and they weren’t even psychotic, just clueless to the reality of the real world.

Yes, they weren't even allowed a defense in the second trial
They were damaged goods from the abuse

his son can say anything now. anything. about both his parents. he has a high-priced lawyer who's already built his entire case for insanity.
but then we have the motive problem. that's when nick can and probably will make his claims. anything goes. dead people cannot defend themselves.

I'm going with a big fat nope on this one. Rob probably threatened to take away his son Nick's trust fund unless he got into rehab and got off the junk.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
