From the article:
For a lot of film fans, Sin City is Rodriguez's greatest cinematic achievement. So they may want to hang on to their helmets for the big reveal from the day: Early test footage and concept art from Fire and Ice, the epic sword and sorcery creation of legendary fantasy artist Frank Frazetta. Rodriguez is an unabashed and unapologetic advocate for the master of pulchritudinous prehistoric princesses and flesh-rending barbarians, even getting Frazetta to produce a poster for the original From Dusk Till Dawn. He got Frazetta's approval back before the artist died in 2010, and has been working openly on this project since 2011.
Rodriguez was very complimentary about the 1983 animated movie by Ralph Bakshi, for which Frazetta not only provided the germ of the original story but also helped choreograph some of the action sequences. However, what Rodriguez showed off in this brief taster was much more epic in scale, with thousands of Frazetta's trademark ape men streaming across an endless bridge into battle, and jagged sorcerously-created glaciers bearing down on green forests. According to Rodriguez, he wants to create the feeling of stepping into Frazetta's lush, fluid and violent world, much like Sin City brought two-fisted life to Miller's drizzle-soaked streets.
Ultimately, it's all about paying tribute to Frazetta's artwork, and back during SXSW 2012, Rodriguez discussed his plan to move the entire Frank Frazetta Museum to a brick-and-mortar location in Austin. That plan may still be a way away, but there was a teaser with the display of 10 original Frazetta pieces, including Death Dealer, Death Dealer 2, and Swamp Demon. Rodriguez's aim was to shock people out of the idea that the artist was just a schlocky fantasy guy, and show them the amazing technique he put into works like Moon Maid.
So test footage not only exists, but has been shown to select media and public - excellent. Then hope remains alive that "Fire and Ice" will indeed be the next movie he makes.
Best case scenario, it might shoot in 2014 for a 2015 release. I at least hope so. This could be the sword and sorcery movie to end all sword and sorcery movies.

Ok find something (new?) and there is hope!
Youve said Nerveracker is going to be your next film and Fire and Ice keeps getting pushed off. Should fans worry about when Fire and Ice is going to get done?
No, Ive worked on Nerveracker off and on a lot so that ones going to go pretty quick. It was mainly The Weinsteins had an option on it. I was going to do Fire and Ice first, but then they came and said, You know what? Were ready for Nerveracker and you owe us that one first. So Ive got to do that one before Fire and Ice but Fire and Ice will be right afterwards. I might do something where theyre back-to-back because Fire and Ice could be going by the end of the year if I do Nerveracker in the summer which would be ideal for me.

Sorry I have no new or any info at the moment.
But I have a bad feeling about the situation.
Because the last few movies from Rodriquez was not so great at the box office!
Fire and Ice could be a real game changer for him ''with the right budget''
so I hope the ''people with the money'' give him the money for the movie and don't jump over the boat!?
But we will see! -

Yeah, I'm worried too. Hope his El Rey network or whatever its called earns him enough to cover the loss of the redundant waste of time Sin City 2.
Why the hell has he wasted so much time on all these bullcrap movies no one wanted instead of giving us "Firb68e and Ice", the movie that would redeem him?!?
And he still has fkking Nervewrecker ahead of him, what the hell is that and who cares? I'm just worried that during the making of it, some other bullcrap will come in the way.

I think the same who in the hell want that crap Machete beep again?

That's the only good thing about it. Time spent on it that he can't spend of Fire & Ice isn't measured in years, but months.
I hope he wi5b4ll not Danny Trejo as Darkwolf ??
I think that depends on how series he is about making a Fire & Ice cinematic universe with a Darkwolf spinoff franchise, contra if he decides on just doing this one movie.
If he does the former, he will likely choose someone who can carry a franchise. If he does the latter, I would honestly not be surprised if he went for Danny Trejo.

I'm afraid it might. I can't imagine the Weinsteins will give him a big budget after Sin City 2 was such a massive flop.
Rodriguez has been talking about Nerveracker for YEARS. The plan was always for Danny Trejo to star in it (the story is a futuristic Blade Runner type film set in Mexico). But Machete Kills was such a massive bomb that I doubt a larger budgeted sci-fi film will star Trejo.

Yeah, after "Machete Kills" and "Sin City 2", I think anyone would be crazy to give Rodriguez tens of millions of dollars to make anything.
If you ask me, I think it's back to square one for Rodriguez. Unless he finances "Neveracker" or "Fire and Ice" out of his own pocket (which he would be crazy to do), I think he needs to re-discover his low budget roots, and make something truly worthwhile on a limited budget to re-establish himself as someone that's worth risking substantial money on.
