If you really want to know, can you post a link?
As far as I know Ginger never posed nude for anything
Not Even during the
Pre-Code
Era of the early 1930s.
Some outrageous things were done then! Strangely, I understand the Horror Classic "
Frankenstein
" (1931) was considered one of "those", that would NOT have been "Accepted" just a few years later. Hard To Believe!
However
I can't understand why Lucy couldn't say she was "pregnant" on "
I Love Lucy
", and married people couldn't be seen sleeping in the same bed,
in the 1950s
, when
in the 1933
film: "
Rafter Romance
", Ginger's character takes a shower, and would obviously be "Nude" to do that Unfortunately, I have not been able to see the film, so I don't know what "all" is revealed I have only seen a few Screen Captures, from those, as far as I can tell, the cameras barely show a hint of her cleavage, and nothing below that
There are some promotional photos of Ginger from the 1933 film: "
Professional Sweetheart
" in which she wears some "Skimpy" Lingerie, consisting of a Bra, Panties (Lacy Shorts Really), and some fancy leg stalkings/panty hose. (
SEE THE LINK BELOW
)
I have seen a couple of a 1954 Lobby Cards for "
Twist Of Fate
" AKA "
Beautiful Stranger
", shot at an angle, that had Ginger leaning back on a couch and talking on the phone, while wearing a bathrobe that shows "most" of her beautiful bare legs, suggesting that she might not be wearing anything else.
These seem to be the most revealing things she ever really did.
(Oddly, these three movies do not seem to be available on DVD in the USA. I somewhat have to wonder if there is a conspiracy involved to hide these materials from the world, to make her look more wholesome to her fans LOL!)
Ginger never mentioned anything about being nude for any movies in her Autobiography, but I doubt she would have talked about that anyway She did mention that she preferred to wear a lot of clothing, perhaps (suggesting?) that she would not pose nude
I think Ginger was one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen and with her exceptional acting, dancing, and singing talents, I see no reason at all why she would ever have felt pressured to pose nude to get an acting role. I believe Ginger was the typical "Girl Next Door" type, who just loved to entertain people. I think she would have turned any "requests" down. And as a fan of hers, I would be shocked to find out that she did actually agree to do that kind of a photoshoot or movie scene.
So I would have to say, that what you saw, was most likely faked.
I would hope, that if you are a fan of Miss Rogers, that this genuine "Pin-Up" would be enough for you

To be honest, It is more than enough for me, as I prefer a little mystery and innuendo
And I also like to think she had more respect for herself to say "NO!"

You can just go to eBay and search for the postcard I had mentioned in my OP. "Rafter Romance" and "Twist of Fate" are available on DVD in the US. There is an eBay seller who sells "Twist of Fate" with its original British title "Beautiful Stranger".

Ok, I did that.
That looks fake to me.
Her hair style doesn't look like any style she wore in her movies or promotional shoots
And her, umm "you know whats" don't seem to match up with that photo from "
Professional Sweetheart
" (1933).
"Rafter Romance" available on DVD in the US.
You Right, I did see "Rafter Romance" on Amazon, but there was something about it that made me think it wasn't genuine. Even if it was genuine, it wasn't released by a major studio, so it is my belief that the quality of the video is extremely poor, and, with the listed cost being so high, I wasn't about waste my time or money on it, no matter what.
"Twist of Fate" are available on DVD in the US.
It is? I tried searching for it, and nothing came up.
I have seen no evidence that any legitimate company has ever released "Twist of Fate" or "Beautiful Stranger" on DVD for the USA for sale through Amazon, TCM, or movie store
There is an eBay seller who sells "Twist of Fate" with its original British title "Beautiful Stranger".
Ebay isn't always a trustworthy place to purchase items.
Given what I noted above, and the nature of the "British" title tag
I find that highly suspicious. (That's all I'll say about that)

Yeah, I thought the same thing about the hairstyle. The photo on the postcard looks totally fake. CGI central. A disgrace! I think it should be pulled from eBay because it's distasteful and appears to be fraudulent. Shameful!
"Rafter Romance" was released on a legitimate DVD through TCM Vault Collection. It seems to be out of print. Right now it's available on a TCM Vault Collection Box set on eBay, and as a single DVD on Amazon. It's quite expensive! That's what happens when things go out of print. Excellent quality though!
I wouldn't frown upon the "Beautiful Stranger" DVD on eBay. I've bought many items on eBay and was satisfied. You can check a seller's feedback to see how impressed customers have been with the seller before you purchase an item. -

I just checked and it does look, as you say, "CGI central." The head is oddly photoshopped on the body. I just hope all who view it come to the same conclusion that it is a fake.
Shameful
I can't keep calm, I'm a Gemini!!! -

If recalled correctly, there was some 'outfit' a while back that 'created' a bunch of these 'nudie pics' of a lot of different 'Golden Age' actresses obviously fake, as, although she had a few 'cheesecake' moments in the early pre-code films, nothing overtly 'nude'. Ginger would most likely hang a 'cease and desist' on this character, if not worse, but in today's landscape, who knows how well that would work
BTW, Rafter Romance is being aired on TCM on May 25 - check out Ginger's Films upcoming on TCM, as well as a few other channels, over on my blog, Gingerology - http://jwhueyblog.blogspot.com/ quite a few coming up! -

I agree with everyone else's assessment that this postcard is a photoshopped creation - and a mediocre one at that.
Also, based on Ginger's autobiography and other documentation of the period, it seems extremely unlikely that she ever would have posed for a fully nude picture, even during the pre-code era. Just because more risque images were allowed prior to 1934 does not mean that Ginger would have participated.1354 In addition to the overall quality of this image indicating that it was photoshopped, the image of Ginger's face looks like it's taken from an image a bit later on in the 1930s. So if she wouldn't have posed for a nude photo during the pre-code era when it might have been "legal" to do so, she most certainly wouldn't have done so later on. -

That's NOT Ginger in that ridiculous photo. It's obviously been (badly) photo shopped.
Stuff on eBay has to be taken with a grain of salt or two. There are MANY loathsome, unscrupulous sellers out there who will try to pass anything off to make a quick buck.
There are many photos on there that are supposed to be of Ginger that don't even slightly resemble her!
This Ebay seller is an idiot.
Ginger would never have done anything like that. Period. -

Indeed, Ginger was very much against exposing too much of herself in photos or on screen. In fact, she wrote in her book "Ginger: My Story" (hardbound, p. 291) concerning her film "Dreamboat" (1952), "I was embarrassed at being clothed in such a skimpy harem costume, complete with black wig; I was never at ease wearing too little. The way things are on the screen today (c. 195b490), with nothing left to the imagination, I don't think I'd be making movies." The black underwear cheesecake photo, from a publicity shoot for her 1933 Paramount film, "Sitting Pretty," is as risqu as she ever got, although she certainly had some quite alluring poses and camerawork done in other movies. A couple of years ago, some unmentionable scoundrel tried selling on Ebay this photo, Photoshopped to make Ginger appear topless. If Ginger had seen such a thing, she would have puffed up like a toad, picked up her phone, and called her attorney to start a lawsuit! I protested to Ebay and that offending photo quickly was pulled. Ginger Rogers was one of the few actresses who were able to keep her public image suitable for all ages.

The post card is a fake.
She never posed nude.
Miss Ginger Rogers had more morals in one pinkie finger, than you do in your whole body
I'm getting nauseated.
And that's how I know what kind of person you are
Your posts are so transparent now, it clear that you are just a hateful
FLAMER
looking to stir up trouble
Because if she really made you nauseated, you would be somewhere else
So, why don't you just do everyone a favor, and do just that!
Have A Magnificent Day! -

coreymax23, as Joan Fontaine said in her autobiography "No Bed of Roses", when she arrived at RKO, Ginger was the undisputed queen of the lot. The photoshopped postcard on eBay shows a Ginger face which reflects her look from 1938/1939 ("Carefree", "Vivacious Lady", "The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle", "Bachelor Mother"). Ginger didn't need to get ahead in those daysshe was the queen of the RKO lot.
She woked hard in vaudville as a teenager and became a Broadway star while in her late teens. While on Broadway, she was simultaneously making movies at Paramount's New York studio. When you're looking at the postcard on eBay, you're seeing Ginger's face photoshopped with hair and a body that weren't hers. If you want to get nauseated, just have a look at your own refection in a mirror. Beware of broken glass!
