i had the interesting fortune of meeting eva marie saint tonight at a production of horton foote's "the roads to home." she was in the audience and someone brought attention to it so i couldn't help but go say hello afterwards (i have shaped myself to be a femme fatale in her image, thank you very much north by northwest.) she shook my hand and was terribly sweet. she looks great! we talked for a little while about the play before i had to go. i was too excited not to share

she does seem like a really sweet person never mind the fact that she's never said anything negative about any of her co-stars particularly male co-stars and still gushes about Paul Newman now 50 & 55 years after they worked together though they were supposed to have worked together three times first being the musical addaptation of our town in September 1955 for tv then she was originally slated to play Clara in Long Hot Summer [but lost the part due to pregnancy with Laurette} replaced by his future wife Joanne Woodward who became pregnant herself during production only to miscarry on their honeymoon and then of course as Kitty Fremont the nurse in Exodus in 1960
