I agree! I have never liked David Schwimmer in anything, but his portrayal of Sobel was absolutely incredible. I won't be so quick to dismiss him in the future but I reserve the right to hate him in any type of comedy or where he is teamed up with a girl. UGH!
Schwimmer should do more 'villain' roles.

Really? I hated him in BOB. I just couldn't see past his friends character. It was funny to watch him in BOB.

LOL. No, what's funny is seeing Jimmy Fallon in Band of Brothers, roll up in a Jeep, playing a 2nd Lieutenant. LOL!

Lol yeah, Jimmy Fallon was a pretty unexpected person to see in a great WWII drama. I'm surprised he didn't break up laughing during his scene

He is not a great comedian, neither very good one
But he does justice to his role in the acting
I like his russ role in 'Friends' and the part role in 'Band of Brothers' .

Agree, David killed it in BoB. He really made me believe he was a tried and true a-hole. The guy has range.

I wasnt too convinced. I got the feeling he was over-doing it, and I couldnt see past his Friends character. But hey thats just me.

Stev - I totally agree. And posted as much just now under "D-Day 6/6/14 - Awesome David Schwimmer". I watched B.O.B. for like the 20th time this past D-Day - only the first episode, but like you I was again blown away by David's portrayal of Captain Sobel. God was he great in that role. So evil. thank God it was only acting.

His best acting by far, always concidered him a comedy actor as opposed to a skilled actor, but was excellent in band of brothers.

I also thought David Schwimmer was great in Band of Brothers. I was also impressed that someone who played a very well-known, loveable character like Ross would take on a role like douchey Sobel. Comedic actors routinely do drama, but they don't always play someone so utterly disagreeable.
At the end of the day, Damian Lewis owned Band of Brothers and Ron Livingston also put in a good supporting turn.

I hated him in Band of Brothersjust like I was supposed to.
Never really liked friendsI know the world knows him as "Ross", but to me he shall always be Sobel!
I'm watching him in ACS and looks like another good performance.
