Yeah, he has the money to do that but no culture or sense of history. He could have restored it and therefore increased the value to more than that plastic McMansion he's building.

The original home was submitted for Historic/Landmark Status by the Preservation Commission but it hadn't gone through yet.
I heard that once a building acquires that Status you can't even repaint it without the Commission's approval.
I t1c84hink he did a really nice job with the new building anyway.
The facade fits well with the surrounding architecture and he's only gone as high as his neighbours.
