This guy is a goof that can't keep his mouth shut about politics like Barbara
Streisand, Julia Roberts and the like. He should concentrate more on acting because he obviously needs the practice. When will these Hollywood goofs realize that when they open their big mouths on politics that they end up inserting their foots in them. Ask the idiotic Dixie Chicks how they feel!

You're kidding, right? This show has more comedy than drama. And it was always like that. Did you think you were supposed to cry in the airplane episode? This should be titled a comedy/mystery/drama, with about 70% comedy, 10% mystery, and 20% drama. And newsflash, the whole formula of the show is the only thing that seperates it from Frasier.

I remember the episode where he went to New York, and I got a few laughs, especially from this quote from Monk:
            "YOU!! You're the urinator!"

Maybe they feel fine but the damage has already been done. They can't fill stadiums anymore so they have concerts in smaller venues since their lapse in judgement. If they don't want to live in the best country in the world, then I say to them, "Don't let the door hit you idiots in the ass on the way out!"

saids the idiot that believes that just because a person hates the president and how the government is being run makes them unamerican and since they have to balls to say they do make them unamerican. What makes a person unamerican is sitting by and listening to any president even if you don't agree with them

First of all, what makes an idiot is one that does not know how to spell and does not know when to add punctuation correctly. Secondly, it is fine to disagree and voice opinion, but not smart to do it in front of thousands of people that you don't even know. That my friend, is stupid!

actually when a idiot isn't really an idiot when he doesn't feel like correcting his mistakes just because some moron wants to act like just because someone makes a mistake that makes them dumb and that is not stupid if the people stop liking them because of their opinion than they never really were true fans in the 1st place so F them.

So what do we say Real Life isa mystery (duhhh), a drama? (sometimes), a comedy (lite and side splitting momments, you know), a horror (OH YES!), fiction?(some of it donated by liars and history revisionists), a western? (depends on if you are out west, and I am), a musical? (we've got Randy N. in the opening and finish, ), sci-fi?(can't see that far in the atmosphere), and on and on I think Monk covers all the good elements in healthy entertainment, what's left of it. That's why I turn it on, week after week, after week, after.. OK, my OC-ness for Monk may be a little heavy, but it's true laughter is the best medicine and stress reliever, and I've had two very difficult years in a row. Monk(Mr. Shahlub) makes me smile, surprised, tender, empathatic, tears of saddness AND sheer joy, and also is a lot cheaper than a shrink! My d/h and I are going to get out of CO and fly to LA this weekend to start a much needed vacation. I haven't been to CA before, so we plan to drive up the coast to SF and see a lot of sights and beaches in between for a couple of weeks.b68 I had surgery on my foot a month ago and have a walking cast on but won't let that slow me down too much. Don't imagine I'll find any Monk in a haystack while we're there during July, but would be pleased to shake his hand, erwipe if I did!

I am a huge fan of the show and i knew when they casted Tony for the part it would be great, just a talented actor that can play any role-but on the comedy or drama i would have to carve the show in the comic realm. As with tv shows their is no constant tag throughout the show-for example, Threes a company with the wonderful and late John Ritter it was based as comedy but sometimes it had its moments of drama and even e.r. has its moments of comic truence, but i feel that the show and the writers are not trying to be too serious and this is what makes MONK so appealing to a wide audience and to its success!
With some of the murders at the beginning it is true they are at times dramatic, but than whenb68 you find out how they were murdered or the cause of- it overlaps the dramatic sensus. Thus the shake your head and grin of the silliness of the action or outcome

Well, sometimes it's funny. I mean, he's a neat freak and all, and when he goes to the victim's house, he has to fix something up.
The catogory for Monk is probably; Drama. b68 That's all. It's funny, but it could be Dramatic Comedy.

Monk definitely incorporates a lot of comedic elements, but there is some drama. I would say dramatic-comedy.
Mr. Monk is so funny and cute and quirky. My absolute favorite episode is of Monk and the little boy who found the finger in his foster mom's purse. The end of that episode made me cry. That baby was so adorable. It was amazing how he mimicked everything he saw Mr. Monk do and say. I loved it when Monk said, "Nature is dirty," and the baby repeated it. There was really not much comedy in that, though it made you smile (because it was heart warming). But his other episodes are so funny.
I think Tony Shalhoub is as hot, even hotter, than Adam Rodriguez. 😉 "Nerds" rule!
Is it a coincidence that I can relate to the not touching strangers, carrying wipies (in my car) and straightening up things that are askew? 🙂
                                b68
                                "Mr. Monk, you bad customer!"

I believe the imdb Genre Tag for "Monk" says it all : Genre: Comedy / Drama / Mystery / Crime (Believe it or not but there are a lot of tv series who are like Monk Comedy/Crime)
