They need to make some Monk mini-movies just like they did with Perry Mason and Matlock. Once every couple of years make a two or three part mini movie so the fans of Monk have a little to go on from time to time. Plus the ending to the series could have been expanded upon quite a bit. There was so much more to the characters that developed over the years other than just Trudy's death that can be elaborated upon or given closure. Besides, its not as though Tony has been extremely busy since Monk ended (sorry to say), so it helps him keep working too

I just saw season 8 a couple days a go and was wishing they'd do a one-off Monk TV movie, like a reunion special or something.
It's true that tony's been hard to find since Monk. He produced a movie about an arab guy and a jewish guy who open a deli together but it went nowhere. I wonder if he can't find a role he likes or if directors don't want to cast him cause he's so Monk now. I
I totally agree about the ending, in fact the last four episodes felt really rushed to me, like they just came up with stuff to wrap it all up and slapped it together, bam, series ended. You could so tell that andy breckman hadn't had any idea how the story would end and just came up with something when he had to. The whole "baby out of wedlock" didn't seem like a big enough scandal to murder her over, especially after the hints about it having to do with her reporting.
oh well. i still loved the show.
