Do postings on imdb really get taken notice of? To the point where it affects careers? That's awful: there are so many morons who post abuse for no reason other than well, that they're morons. It'd be terrible to think that they have that kind of effect.
Personally I rarely post, and when I do it's usually to ask questions, or to say something positive/support another poster; I just wouldn't bother to visit to post something like, "wow he/she is so crap what is teh point of them they shud not be in more moovies lolololol." Or worse still, some ugly and vaguely plausible lie which turns into a rumour.

I disagree.
The people who continually post condescending comments for laughs have nothing better to do and people who talk real crap are just pathetic losers and bitter about people they don't know beep about.
It's whoever it is from "the film industry" that takes this stupid place seriously who is the MORON.

I'm a professional in the film industry, and I have an inside understanding of the fact that postings on IMDb can sometimes mean the difference of working and not working for the individual whose page it is found on. I have been on movie sets of all places, telling people not to believe half the B.S. found on IMDb message boards.
I find it hard to believe that people lose jobs on account of what nobodies say on message boards.
If that's true then they are even more stupid than the people on these boards you think are stupid for talking crap and if they are that stupid who the heck would want to work with them anyway.
I always made the presumption that people in film were a little more advanced in general but I've realized over the last two or three years that they are just people and can be just as stupid as the average person. I've seen some majorly stupid, ignorant and moronic comments by people on these boards who claim to be actors or work in film to whatever capacity.
Seriously, if what you say is true, you have some major dumbasses in your line of work as if IMDb actually means something anyway other than basically being a database to list movies and everything else being ornamentation.
You wouldn't dare!

Absolutely accurate. Everybody in the business lives and dies by IMDb. I worked with a cameraman whose credit was wrong on a film I produced. He said he didn't care about changing the credit on the film as long as it was correct b68on IMDb.

I dislike her because she made the choice to get involved with a married man. That particular choice tells me she is incredibly selfish, has poor self-control, very little self-respect, no regard for the wife or the marriage/relationship, chooses a guy who can't wait to be officially divorced before messing around with her & who is also very self-centered himself, etc. It's overall what I consider to be low behavior.

I don't like her because I read that she likes to cut herself and store her blood in jars. What's the deal with that? Only truly crazy people store there their fluids in jars, and it's urine, not blood. She's obviously a poser who doesn't know what she's doing.
