I guess she kind of just gave up to pursue other things. I mean now she has a kid and all that. It happens to alot of actresses. I mean look at Alicia Silverstone, in the 90's she was one of the biggest stars in the world and now look at her, she has not had a good role in years.
Beside even if she fades, she will always be an icon, she made her mark for sure. I mean BTVS is a cult classic, I LOVE that movie..campy fun.
Latest Movie: Hush Shush Sweet Charlotte (1964, Horror) 7/10.

She'll be an icon alright. She'll be an icon of exactly what no woman should ever turn into. She's been a drug addict, a barbie-doll wannabe (boob job in the late 90s to be specific), and a homewrecker (not to mention giving birth as a result of getting knocked up by a married man). Worse yet, she knew that he was married and still did him anyways. Now she only has herself to blame for all of that! How stupid can she actually be?!

Whatever she's up to these days, it's quite obvious she's got better things to do than go on other people's IMDb boards for the sole purpose of trashing them. It takes an awfully bored, non-productive person to spew all this crap about someone. Who cares about alleged drug use, boob jobs or who was married to whom at what point in time?
Seriously, this board is meant for people to ask questions and make comments about someone we as fans admire, and you @ssholes are taking that away from us by PAYING to come on here, unwelcomed, and posting all this static. GET LIVES AND GO AWAY.
By the way, the part where you have to pay to come on here tells me you've got a personal agenda against Kristy or you wouldn't be so desperate to get your beep message out there as to pay to do it.

As far as her life goes I guess she is focusing on being a mom and as far as acting goes for 2008 she has done 3 guest spots on 3Way.

Why on earth would someone have to pay to be on these boards?

It's kind of funny that Alicia Silverstone's name was brought up because I kind of feel that Kristy Swanson would've made a good or ideal Cher Horowitz had
              Clueless
              been made several years prior.

Not a bad question considering the fact that they only air three of her movies on television.

Her career may not have turned her into a superstar, but that happens to the majority of the actors really. She may not be on first-rate films but shes been always working steadily. We have Kristy for a while still, she has 3 upcoming movies

I just think the big lynch pin was Buffy the vampire slayer. It hurt her career, she was the leading woman and the movie was not the hit it, it should have been, despite it developing a cult following. Luke Perry's film career never reached the stratosphere once predicted when he was involved in the movie either. Not sure why the movie was not a hit, but I know Joss Whedon the creator thought the film should of been more darker then it was.

                      http://boxofficeboredom.com/2010/09/22/where-are-they-wednesdays-krist y-swanson/
Well random reader, that is a very good question. Just where did Kristy Swanson go? And I already know some of you who are wondering- Who the hell is Kristy Swanson?
Kristy Swan2000son was an actress who debuted on the big screen in two John Hughes films: Pretty In Pink and Ferris Buellers Day Off. In Bueller, Swanson was the character who give a terrible excuse for school skipping Ferris. She starred in Wes Cravens Deadly Friend as Samantha and followed up with a performance she played Cathy in V. C. Andrews best-seller Flowers in the Attic. By the 90s Swanson had made multiple TV appearances in Knots Landing, and Nightingales.
Swansons career bust into films in the 90s most notably for her performance as Buffy The Vampire slayer (in which a young Ben Affleck plays Basketball Player #10). Buffy failed in the box office but found a niche market in DVD/VHS sales (and probably laser discs as well!). Her filmography also included movies such as Hot Shots!, The Program, The Chase, Higher Learning, The Phantom, and 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag. Unfortunately for Swanson, none of these films performed at the box office and kick started her career as a movie starlet. It wasnt until 1999 when Swanson appeared in Big Daddy alongside Adam Sandler, before pretty much disappearing into the Hollywood doldrums.
Since then, Swanson has tried to continue to re-kindle her minor stardom by posing in Playboy and ventured intoreality TV. Swanson starred in Skating With Celebrities a FOX network attempt to cash in on the _____ing with the Stars franchise. After an affair with her married Skating partner (who knew male skaters married women!) Swanson wound up marrying her Skating partner, Lloyd Eisler, in February 2009. Swanson has a son, Magnus Hart Swanson Eisler, who was born in 2007. At age 40, despite not having atheatrical release in over 10 years, Swanson continues to act and try to cash in on the small amount of stardom she once had. Shes become a spokesperson for the Medifast diet program, and most recently Swanson can be seen in an indie film along side Kevin Sorbo and Debbie Ryan titled What If
So for those of you wondering just what happened to theatrical Buffyyour burning question has been answered. Tune in for next weeks Where Are the Wednesdays!

As someone else wrote, top stardom is pretty rare. I think she did quite a bit better than the average actress who aspires to a Hollywood career. So had leading roles in a number of films; none of these films were big hits, so she did not become a big star, but still, that's an achievement that most others only dream of.
More specifically: In the early 2000s she had put on a little more weight than looked good, and I guess that did not help her career (but she still got some roles, or I would not have seen that). But in a "Psych" episode from 2011 she looks great (surprisingly great for her age).

                            Agreed.
She consistently gets work as an actress, which means she's succeeded in making a career out of it. When you consider how many people aspire to break into the business and rarely even land the tiniest of gigs, she's kind of an exception. Sure, she ain't A-list royalty, but the odds of that happening are in the same bracket as lottery jackpots.
Could and should she have been bigger? Absolutely. But luck plays a huge part in catching that next level break and it seldom happens, even when one has all the tools to make it there.
