      Dark of the Sun
      , a
      men-on-a-mission
type of film, was violent for its time, but is probably not very shocking these days. I forgot one - an early one in his career -
      World Without End
(1956). He was an unknown actor at that time but showed some promise as an action star in this sci-fi adventure.

          Maddyclassicfilms,
          Both
          Dark of the Sun
          (1968) and
          World Without End
          (1956) are available on DVD.
The first is a very violent tale and is considered one of Taylor's best films.
          WWE
is one of my favorite sci-fi adventures, the first sci-fi film in widescreen. It's also a time-travel drama, akin to
          The Time Machine
, but I find it much more enjoyable.
Thanks for starting this thread. You may find other RT films you haven't seen to put on your list.

Dark of the Sun (one of my favorites) was shown a month or two ago on Turner Classic Movies. I saw it originally at the theater when it was first released.First time I've seen it in years. The basic premise was similar to The Wild Geese. Mercenaries in Africa on a mission (one to rescue civilians and diamonds the other to rescue a politician)
I thoroughly enjoyed his series "Bearcats"

this is not only one of Rod Taylor's better films but also Jim Brown and Yvette Mimieux are also excellent.

                        Top three are:
                        Hotel
                        The Glass Bottom Boat
                        Sunday In New York
                        Also,
                        The Time Machine
                        The V.I.P.s
                        Fate Is The Hunter
My top three would be Desert Island top 20 (if I ever get stuck on a desert island). I still have a huge crush on Rod. I'll give The Train Robbers and 36 Hours a try per your recommendation!

to see both those films. I'm sure as a fan you'll like them. Several good recommendations are being made on this thread.

Sorry to break in again, Maddy, but
                                      Hotel
is one of Rod's very best films and best performances. Probably in my top three or so of his films. It's quite exciting, with a good cast, well-acted, and rather wistful in its way. I hope you'll like it.

For me it was The Time Machine, followed by The Birds. Saw both in the Theater in my teens. I also found the final fight scene in Darker Than Amber quite memorable.

Probably The Birds. The Time Machine, unfortunately, has become very dated, but it is still enjoyable. I also like his last movie, Inglorious Basterds, even if he was virtually unrecognizable.
