He had an Australian accent as any boy who grew up in the western suburbs of Sydney would.
He worked hard on developing an American accent while working on radio serials in Sydney.
when he arrived in USA he was met by American producers who were horrified at how badly he was dressed (by Hollywood standards).
He spoke to them in the american accent he developed & one producer said "Thank God for that, at least he doesn't have an accent."
Rod used to slip back into his Aussie accent when he returned to Australia.
