Circa 1973, I realized that Miss Tyson was both. And I was a white kid from Wisconsin (born in 1959), whose high-school classmates included exactly three African-Americans.
My parents, God bless them, taught me that racism was big-time BS; that people are individuals, not to be judged by their skin color or anything besides their character.
And seeeing this stunning and hugely gifted African-American woman on television ("The Autobiography b68of Miss Jane Pittman") and the big screen ("Sounder") reinforced their teaching big-time.
Also, is it just me, or is Miss Tyson ageless:)?
Dear God, please continue to bless this magnificent woman!

I most definitely agree with you. I have never witnessed such a blessed, magnificent, and astonishing presence on screen. I love Cicely Tyson.
