Miss Kitty, no witness testimony "is over 30 years old." That is impossible, as Natalie hasn't even been dead for 30 years yet.
Do you think "almost 30 years old" makes it any more credible? That was really dumb. -

Well unless they can get a trial going in the next few days and get the witnesses on the stand by next tuesda238y, it will be over 30 years.

She said, after she called the coast guard and couldn't get through, she called the police and was told a helicopter would be sent. She also shined a light in the area to try to see what was going on.
I had to click on a bunch of different links to get more of the witness's story and more details.
I'm deathly afraid of flying but am oddly drawn to it and fly all the time.
Phobias are strange things, some avoid them at all costs, others continue to expose themselves to their worst fears. -

I agree with the person who questions all this "Natalie was so afraid of the water" stuff. When I was a kid, I went out fishing and crabbing with my grandfather on his boats. He was a capable boatsman, so I never felt scared. Later, I developed an intense fear of drowning, even though I'm drawn to water for its beauty, as well as its powers of relaxation. These days, I don't feel comfortable on boats, so I doubt I would own a yacht if I were so terrified of the water. I also detest flying, which I do only when it can't be avoided. I also try to avoid huge bridges whenever possible; if I must be on a large bridge, I stick to inside lanes.
The ridiculous woman who claims to have heard Wood that night should be ignored as the opportunist she is. Nothing about her story makes any sense, especially the words Wood supposedly cried out. "I'm drowning"? Really? Of all the people I've ever seen struggling in the water, not one of them ever screamed "I'm drowning." Given Wood's level of intoxication and disorientation, as well as the chilly waters, I doubt her voice would have been so clear, no less amid all the sounds of parties, wildlife, etc.

"She was an actress for God's sake, trained to project her voice as far as possible. She knew how to scream very well. Thanks!"
You're welcome, for just making one of the stupidest remarks I've heard pertaining to the whole scenario yet. Wood's 'training' would have had nothing to do with how she responded in an emergency situation, when she was likely highly intoxicated and disoriented by fear and hypothermia to boot. Because the woman 'reported screams to the authorities' doesn't ipso facto make her statement truthful; she could have lied about hearing anything whatsoever and might simply have been engaging in attention seeking antics. -

That's true, it was documented at the time of the drowning that the woman on the other boat did hear the screams and called for help.
As far as Natalie's fear of water, she was reported saying that she absolutely loved being on the water, just not in the water. -

It's only documented that this is what the woman said. She may have decided to spice up her story a bit to the police by adding details to it after she summoned them.
And she was on a boat with other people. Could none of themherself includedpossibly have taken down a dinghy from their own boat and rowed out to see where the screams were coming from and tried to help i5b4f they could? IME, this woman's story sounds more full of holes every time it's re-told. -

Natalie Wood comes back from heavy drinking early to the boat Robert Wagner and Christopher Walken were on. What she saw cost her, her life. She found them in bed together. She went hysterical and threatened to tell the world. They would have none of that. Only one way to keep this under wraps. Kill her and make it look like a accident. They got away with murder.
