A fast-moving fire near Mono Lake in the Eastern Sierra has forced the evacuation of a small mountain town of 332 residents and shut down a key section of U.S. Highway 395, a vital artery that links rural communities along the eastern spine of California's Sierra Nevada.
As of 11:08 a.m. Friday, the Inn Fire has burned 540 acres.
I can't imagine living in California. It seems like they're constantly dealing with some of the most horrendous and devastating fires. Haven't read about any earthquakes there recently, but I may have missed them.
