in the episode grow there were two different endings that you could have voted on. in the uk (i think) nicole died instead of her bringing gwen to arizona so i dont think that they could bring her back since it wouldnt make sense for whoever saw the alternate ending. too bad. i really like her character.

In the episode with the suicide doubt was raised whether it was actually a suicide or if she set it up to look that way for Goren.

IMO, those who voted for her - regardless of both which country it was and whether it eliminated her, did so because she was so despicable. Personally, they should be shot; granted, it's their opinion and this one is mine. (I don't need a response telling me I shouldn't be critical of their opinion(s) as I

qualify I know it was their collective opinions. I know it's tough for many to resist the opportunity.
I personally know a lot of younger ( < 18) and older (55+) those who are between the age groups don't seem quite as confused who say Vincent is a terrible person because he is so cocky & smug. What they fail to realize is they don't like Goren and how VD'O portrays him. (Interestingly enough, they seem taken with House, despite the similarity in the characters. If they were to see his (VD'O) body of work - as in actually going back and re-watching his appearances - as in other shows & movies, and not relying upon their memories when they realize how he masters every role he takes, regardless of 5b4how prominent he is in the cast. They'd realize that outside of L&O:CI and the recognition he's gained, he's probably the most under appreciated talent today.
He takes the aspects of the characters and basically absorbs them, then projects probably the best that character could be from every pore in his skin.
At some point, I have a feeling he will have to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award for movies as well as TV because he doesn't seem to be concerned about who he is, but how he can stretch himself to play roles which are always different than anything else he's done. He's a utility player in casting whereas other people are more focused upon being the best First Baseman, Center Outfielder, etc. In essence, his best work is whatever he's doing at a particular time. I stumbled across "Homicide" a year or two ago where he's the guy who ends up trapped between two subway cars and the platform. He wasn't focused upon being the best actor in that role, but the best portrayal of the character. And I don't think he has to be considered as a method actor. It's almost as if he has his own (unique) technique for becoming the character.
If he weren't an actor or in entertainment, he would be very good as a con man, being whatever was needed to accomplish what would need to be done; or, as a spy who has to be part of wherever he happens to be and the context of where that persona has to be.

I think he likely takes direction very well, but I also believe he's given a lot of free license and he's turned loose.
What I found to be interesting is when Andrew McCarthy was supposed to appear in an episode and basically walked off of the set. He claimed VD'O was overbearing in giving him some feedback & coaching, yet those who witnessed what was going on felt like Mr. McCarthy saw himself as a consummate who knew what he was doing and didn't need any help and felt like a director isn't supposed to organize how a film|movie is put together, but more like a supervisor, just making sure everything which needs to be done, is done. Not long afterwards, he (Andrew) appeared in an episode of Monk ("Mr. Monk Goes Back to School") in a bit role as the criminal.
In terms of Olivia D'Abo and her portrayal of Nicole|Elizabeth, you can tell she's good enough in playing a role which does depend upon almost any type of activity to achieve her particular goals, despite those activities might be distasteful to some. Attempt to bribe a judge to prevent the judge from betraying Nicole's husband, who might have bribed the judge himself; take on the role of a lesbian, regardless of what her underlying preferences might be; get married for citizenship as much as to point out to "Bobb-bbee" (sic) with that interesting way she pronounces his name vs. Eames; take on a ward, warp her, and turn her into a lover; attempting to have her husband killed because his asthma inhaler was swapped with an empty one, the antique elevator would stall, be dusty & hot, triggering an asthma attack and having no means to get relief; leave a healthy (or unhealthy) puddle of blood to create an opportunity for a vote as to her future. I'm guessing as a result of those votes, the UK and Aussies might find themselves missing a couple of episodes when she appears because there's not all that much pressure upon TV shows in general to create alternate plot lines, whereas movies do so in order to let some of the editors deal with the best combinations along the way. This also creates the artistic license of a director's cut and extra material on a DVD. Andto create a cable version, which isn't always what was shown in the movies. And also.to create a TV version so the innocent ears aren't flooded with all sorts of violence, nudity, and swearing.

Possible spoiler to A Person of Interest
I wasn't familiar with the name Vincent D'Onofrio until I started watching Law
and Order:CI. Then I realized that I had seen him in a number of movies, but because I wasn't looking for him I didn't realize it was the same person. Edgar the Bug from "Men in Black" bears little resemblance to the hunk in Adventures in Babysitting.
The scenes between Goren and the evil Nichole are incredible. You can just feel the electricity between them. I love Goren, but I was glad to see him have to back down when he got in her face (I think it was in A Person of Interest). He said to Alex afterward "She got me, she got me good". As he would have worded it, he blinked.
The only other movie I have seen her in is "The Velocity of Gary". Donofrio is in that one, too. They play porn stars that make porn movies with each each other.
D'abo makes a good porn star and a great psycopath. -

I don't understand the storyline where they talk about her killing her child - can anyone fill me in - why and how did she do it?
That was in the episode Great Barrier.
Nicole admitted to Goren that she killed her child, insinuating it was an accident, that the child had been swept out to sea. However, the autopsy showed the child's neck had been broken by someone twisting her arm so tightly, something that didn't jive with the child being swept out to sea.
Goren had a theory of why she killed the child.1) Nicole feared the father would abuse the child as Nicole has supposedly abused by her own father, so she killed the child to spare her the abuse. 2) Nicole killed the child because of jealousy - she seen the child as a competitor for the fathers attention. -

Vincent is a terrible person because he is so cocky & smug. What they fail to realize is they don't like Goren and how VD'O portrays him.
People don't seem to realize D'Onofrio is not Goren. I have never seen any other actor so confused with his role.
D'Onofrio considers himself a Method Actor.
That was a good point about House. I cannot stand House because he is somean to people, just to be mean. Goren is not like that.
At the risk of defending McCarthy, I do think Vincent was probably a bit out of line. He is free to give advice or imput but, enough is enough, especially if he's annoying other actors. Vincent is not the director and to start acting like one is insultive to an another actor. I'm a huge Vincent "fan" but I surely would have told him to beep off if he started directing me, especially if I didn't ask his imput. There is a line between being rude and helpful and I do not doubt that Vincent was being rude. I believe he is as arrogant and difficult as they say he is. So am I. LOL
The Aussies did not miss any Nicole episodes. They were aired in order as they were in the USA. I'm assuming the UK has seen them too.
I like d'Abo as an actress but always hated her Nicole Wallace, though not because of d'Abo herself. I aleways felt that the Nicole storyline was poorly written, so full of plotholes that it insulted my intelligence. They cross the line of believability and common sense with each Nicole episode, IMO. I never thought of Nicole as a great villan, rather as a tool to add some soap to CI.
Had Nicole been a man, not so many people would cheer her, fawn over her, or feel sorry for her. Who could root for a murdereress, let alone a woman who murdered her own child with her bare hands?

I voted for Nicole to die only because I was so sick of the unbelievable, soapy, at times ludicrous, storyline being shoved down my throat. I had had enough with "Great Barrier" - trying to manipulate me into feeling "sorry" for Nicole really pissed me off. Congrats to the Aussies for having brains. Hiss to North America! LOL

The show was created for D'Onofrio who has a habit of giving "feedback" to co-stars all the time, especially on a show he is was heavy handed with. McCarthyt may have been unaware but it's not unusual for D'Onofrio. Still, if McCarthy rebuffed him, D'Onofrio should have backed off or changed modes.

I'm so glad Nicole is alive. I was blown away to see her doing crossover to 'Jo' as a guest star.
