I'm betting you only think you can
I have Scottish relatives to account for my Scottish accent and my Aussie friends say my Aussie accent is good. My accents are good enough to fool Americans and Candians into thinking I'm not English or American.

That's beep yes we can. I'm American and I knew her Australian accent was bad.

American show, and most Americans can't tell the difference. Wasn't Australia where the English originally sent their malcontents? the English accent wasn't anything I really noticed.
She's very pretty. I thought that she was Rosanna Arquette and am glad I checked. Rosanna doesn't have the sparkle that this chick has, imo.

She's not trying to put on an Aussie accent. She plays a British character (Nicole Wallace) who stole the identity of an Australian (Elizabeth Hitchens, as Goran and Eames discover) while living down under. The accent is very obviously Brit - as it is her natural speaking voice.

No, you got it backwards: Nicole Wallace is Australian and Elizabeth Hitchens was British.

                  LOL! - re: Bush remark!
I never knew Olivia had an accent until I saw her in the movie "The Big Green".
She was great portraying "Kevin Arnold's" older sister on the "Wonder Years".
I think it takes a great knack (and talent) to be able to speak w/o an accent, as Olivia has proven.
                  Kudos to her!!!! 🙂

OMG I totally agree! It's the thing that annoys me the most about television! All bloody shows totally butcher the Australian accent (esp. LOST). I'm not trying to bag out Olivia, I think she's great, but srsly, an Australian accent, pfft.

Olivia as Nicole Wallace doesn't speak in an Australian accent, she speaks with an English accent because she stole the English Elizabeth Hitchen's identity.

Yeah, I got confused watching "Tak: The Hideous New Girl" on Invader Zim. She went through three accentsAustralian, British, and American. It's was all over the place, but I still thought it was ok.

Assuming that you're Australian yourself, I find your comment amusing. The reason being that many other Aussie imdb posters on other message boards have commented on actual Aussie actors saying that their Australian accent "sucks" or sounds like an American doing an Aussie accent.

Well, it is an American show. I like to think of myself as fairly aware of languages and dialects, and while I can tell the difference between English and Australian, I do have a hard time distinguishing between Australian, Kiwi, and, to some extent, South African (depending, of course). So, I wouldn't be surprised if the producers and director thought, "screw it, no one will tell."
