It's a weird accent for sure, but from reading Aussie posts on various message boards here it seems that Australians criticize fellow Australians for not having a proper Australian accent. LOL
One thing I think is true though is that Australians who live and work abroad tend to lose their accent while someone who lives inland or in the rough country areas of Australia sound very different from someone from Melbourne or Sydney

Did you even WATCH the freakin' episode or did you deliberately post clearly false information because you get off on stirring up beep Jeez!!!
It seems likely to me that the gentleman simply misunderstood that detail of the episode. Why all the vitriol over it?
