Because of the similarity in our ages I basically saw his films from the very beginning. I found him effective even in films that I did not particularly care for, such as "The 40 Carats"I haven't watched "Butterflies Ar Free" since it was in theatres, but I still remember several of his scenes from the film.
I had not seen a picture of him for a long, long time until just peeking at some on this page. He sure looks older and different than I remember him. But I recently looked at a new picture of myself and thought the same thing. I mourned the passing of his father just a few months ago, and I now mourn his passing.
Oh Lord, you gave them eyes but they cannot see

Yes I know. We are the same age as well and I hadn't paid much attention to him lately. I too looked at some of the pictures and wished he could look the way he used to in his 20's and 30's. And then I thought, "give him a break - he's 55 like you - YOU wish you looked as you did back then too!" A real class act from a real class act family. His presence on this earth will be missed. I wonder if he knew how many of us were out here?

I only knew him from Falcon Crest where he played a bad guy. He was so good in that role. I'll have to check out some of his movies. His dad also guest-starred on the show. At least now they are together. God bless them both.

Yes that's the El Portal Theatre in NoHo; I was just there the other night and couldn't help but think of Edward. How nice that you got to meet him. What a shock and yes, I wonder if he was a smoker or not. Way before his time and what a grand gent. he was. And so handsome. Years ago my mother was watching Merv Griffin and Edward was a guest. My mother said, "oh look he's your age and he's so cute". I didn't pay much attention at the time but later did. I also read that he helped the victims of the Santa Monica farmers market car crash in '03. Wow. He deserves a special place in Heaven. I live in L.A. and I have not seen either The Hollywood Reporter or Variety post his obituary yet and I intend to fax them both on Monday. RIP.

                      To georgygirl7:
The answer to whether he Edward Albert was a smoker is in the thread smoker?
He smoked when he was young and then quit. But someone who worked with him in a film (Stage Ghost) in 2000 says he was smoking then too.

Rest in peace, Edward Albert. You left us much too soon at age 55. I thought you were excellent in "Galaxy of Terror" and "Getting Even."

Was very sorry to hear this news, a fine actor who gave so much of the last years of his life taking care of his father Ed sr. who just passed last year, they will both be missed greatly.

I loved the movie Butterflies are Free! His handicapped character was great, that he was trying to live independently of his mom's Ruling Arm.
