To your other question, she is Jewish indeed. Her last name was originally Blumenthal, but her father had it shortened to Blume when she was born. When her mother, Claire, and her brother John left for America in the forties to escape the London Blitz, her mother changed their surname again to Bloom [to sound more American]. Hope I was of help to you! Claire Bloom is my absolute favourite. Yay for Ms. Bloom!
