Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — David Chokachi

I didn't really understand why Chokachi was on Confessions of a teen Idol, for the past 3 years he was on beyond the break, the 3rd season is on youtube. Also he has like 3 projects coming out, and one of them is for 2009 which just started. So I got to thinking, does he really just want to be famous, or is he just collecting a paycheck. (50,000 a person for surreal life, which is a 10 day vacation at a mansion) To me it was kind of like he was saying "Beyond the Break really wasn't anything." But I would rather work than be famous anyday, if he really wanted to be famous, walk down the street butt naked with an erection near Mr. Chow's,(equivalent to the crotch shot) or make a sex tape. But wouldn't you rather be able to get work as an actor, than be famous? Even though he found the comments from the focus group kind of superficial, he had to expect that, there's a reason he kept in shape all this time, after all he was famous for his body on baywatch, so does he want to be a famous hardbody or known for his acting, or is he trying to get "meaty" roles. I never got the Famous think, I always said, I don't want to be Famous, I want to BE RICH. Look at People like Norah Jones, Michael Buble, Josh Groban, you hardly see them on tv or in magazines that much, and every album goes platinum, heck Groban had the highest selling album of the 2007 year, and it was a christmas album.
So let me reiterate my question: Would you rather be employed, or famous???
Hasta Lasagna, I got my EyEs on YA!!

I guess I would rather be employed, as fame itself is no promise for either happiness, wealth, or a dignified life. But I guess being a successful working actor in Hollywood, you'd have to be on a successful TV show or doing good movies with depth and a good story. Fame would usually come along with that.
But in David's case: I don't know him personally of course, but I do think that there is a lot of integrity involved too. Remember when the focus group on CoTI said that he was "eye candy"? That seemed to really offend him. I think he just wants people to see other sides of him and take him seriously.
      Just my two cents.
Sado-masochism means never having to say you're sorry
      Love all-ways
