I really can't take this guy's acting. Admittedly, I've only seen him in Killer Joe and Another Happy Day, recently. It makes a bit more sense in Killer Joe, but to me he just seems like he's slightly mentally challenged. His performance in Another Happy Day was so awful and emotionless I could barely stand to watch him. Perhaps the only emotion he WAS able to convey successfully was EXTREME AWKWARDNESS.
Just wondering if anyone else feels this way? Everyone seems to love this guy. I don't get it.

He's not bad in 'Sideways' but his character in the movie seems pretty emotionless like you've compared him.
The contrast between him and Paul Giamatti(?) is pretty great though so i'd give it a shot before you rule him out entirely.
You still might hate him due to his characters emotional compass in the film though.

he's had steady work for the past 20 years so I'm pretty sure he can quit his day job

I think he's a wonderful and charismatic actor and I don't think he's had a day job in the past three decades.

He's very unique. I've always liked him since his days on Wings. He was on another show with Debera Messing before she got famous on Will and Grace. I forgot the name, but it was much funnier than W&G.

That's it, Ned & Stacy. Great deadpan deliveries.
He played a bad-ass in Dusk Till Dawn too.
He was doing voice over work for Home Depot, til they replaced him with an announcer that sounds just like him.
