the only thing you can say 'nuff said' abob68ut is that Finch definitely deserved his oscar, he gave so much heart and soul to it that it probably led to his death by a heart attack

finch was great in network,,he would of won for his magical performance but since he died ,,,everyone says thats why he won.like with heath ledger great in dark rises he died so everyone says he won because he dies,,though I would of loved to see robert downey win for tropic thunder he was a hoot in it

Finch deserved to win.
Thank God he won.
And besides,
is a much better actor than Deniro.
I don't think you've ever seen astonishing movies such as The Pumpkin Eater or The Trials of Oscar Wilde or Sunday Bloody Sunday or Something To Hide, and I could name you at least other 15 great performances in at least 15 very good films.
Network was the icing on his cake. I still can't understand why he is soo underrated as an actor( and as a theatre actor). -

Finch was dead, he didn't "rob" anyone of the Oscar that year, moron. The Academy members voted him the Oscar, which was deserved. His performance as Howard Beale blew out of the water DeNiro's performance.

network is an overrated movie, and Finch's part is an agenda and not a human.
