    GREAT!
    His best film, no doubt.
    The Beyond is horror-poetry.

Jesus! Be objective man. (just kidding!)
A lot of people111c think this his best film, and it does have an almost transcendental quality to it. I still consider Zombie my personal favourite, and City of the Living Dead a close second; but I guess that its beauty and originality are immpossible to ignore.
Is it commonly reffered to as L'Aldila? I've noticed a few people calling it by the Italian name- is this a purist thing, or common usage?

One on Top of The Other is worth checking out! an interesting little thriller. Also The Smuggler (AKA The Naples Connection) I've heared is amazing, although I havn't had a chance to see it yet Lizard in a Womans Skin is superb!
On the Argento front, check out Phenomena; Inferno and Deep Red- His early giallos are worth seeing as well.
I've only seen a couple of Bava films so far, both amazing! and a documentary about his work was pretty fascinating. seems you're following a cool path!
PS Argento 'produced' Demons, actually directed by Lamberto Bava.
PPS Have you seen The Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue? if you havn't you should!
            Cheers 🙂

The Bava films I've seen are Bay of Blood and Hatchet for the Honeymoon (which includes a really interesting documentary on the UK DVD)- Both fantastic!
Bay of Blood (aka Bloodbath) influenced many of the US slasher films, Friday 13 in particular. It has that unique Italian style- more giallo than traditional horror.
Hatchet for the Honeymoon is a really interesting psychological thriller, again directed with amazing originality and style why are Italians so cool!
As far as I know most Bava films are still unavailable in the UK- I may have to some mail ordering.
Black Sabbath and Planet of the Vampires both look superb! (Bava)

Man, can't believe he is so famous out there.Nobody knows who the hell is Fulci in Italy,I mean it!I know him only because I saw l'aldila in venice last year and I was "Impressed" by the scenes made in the hospital cause the hospital had just three rooms!!that was like shouting "we-had-no-money!" Great also the fact that the famous italian enterteiner, reportedly serious and well-known also as a journalist,Michele Mirabella is in the movie (he is the one who fell from the stairs and is eaten by tarantulas)Gosh when we saw him we laugh so mad!!!

Let's just say it again: "L'ALDILA" IS FULCI'S GREATEST WORK!
But "Zombie" is also an awesome movie, one o16d0f the best zombie-flicks ever. I've seen "Zombie 3" and it sux as a b*tch (10x 2 Vincent Dawn); I think that "Don't Torture The Duckling" has some good moments, but it's far from a good film, IMO. I can say the same thing 'bout "The Gates Of Hell" and "House By The Cemetery". I've never seen "Lizard In A Woman's Skin" (I'm sure it is going to rock) and "The Black Cat" (a friend of mine told me it is bad), but I saw the first ten minutes of "The New York Ripper" and I liked it; someday maybe I'll see the entire film.
I must admit I prefer Dario Argento & Mario Bava than Lucio Fulci.
