It cerntainly is. Being a violent mafia crime thiller (polizieschi), it has plently of shooting deaths and torture sce5b4nes, incluing the face of a woman burned off by a blowtorch which is one of the sick high points of the movie.

the gore takes a while to get going but when it hits its great, it also livens up the more mundane elements of the storyline

The gore is in quick bursts throughout the movie, the rape scene is strong as well.
