If you like murder mysteries, see Don't Torture a Duckling. Fulci himself has said that he considers that his best work and his personal favorite. Then focus on other mystery 'giallo's such as A Lizard In a Woman's Skin, and then with Seven Notes in Black (The Psychic). Watch 'One On Top of the Other' (Preversion Story) in intrested.
Then, if you like monster gore films with lots of blood, gore, and guts, see Zombie (Zombi 2) as a start, and then focus on The Beyond, as well as City of the Living Dead. You can also see House By the Cemetery. Others of intrest include The New York Ripper, Murderock, and possibly Mahattan Baby.
If you like crime stories, you can even see the violent Contraband (aka: The Naples Connection) for a start, or if you like westerns, see Massacre Time.
A good comedy would be 'The Senator Likes Women'. But most of his comedies are lost in the film vaults of Italy and haven't been imported at all from the country.

definitely Zombie/Zombi 2 and then The Beyond, City of the Living Dead and The House by the Cemetery.

It will give you some insight into both Fulci and Italian cinema in general.

argento, romero and carpenter are so different. If you want to see something that would relate to romero, see any of his films between the years 1979 and 1981. If you want to see something that would compare to argento you should see any of the films he made in the 70s (duckling/lizard/psychic). for carpenter Im not sure since carpenter did a lot of sci fi stuff and i associate him with that. fulci did do a sci fi movie called conquest but I haven't seen that one.

Conquest is fantasy. I thought it was mediocre but somewhat entertaining. He made a sci-fi movie called Rome, 2072 A.D. I haven't seen it but I read that it suffered too much from the low budget.

                        do
anything. That's the beauty of it."
