we are talking about gambon; we're talking about his poor performance of a beloved character.
i agree he is generally a good actor, but that makes his performance of dumbledore even more annoying, as i know he can do better but he doesnt seem to even try to make it a good performance that reflects the actual character. if he didnt want to get to know the character, he should not have accepted the part. -

Gambon is a brilliant actor, he just doesn't have the right grasp on the character of Dumbledore. Big shame, unfortunately I can't see the HP films being remade for at least another 20 years.
On another note I recently watched Sky Captain and noticed Gambon in it! -

You do realize most Harry Potter fans are probably not going to go out of their way to watch a bunch of Gambon's other films? He probably is a very talented actor but when he has a part in such a major franchise it's ridiculous to not expect a lot of the traffic on his board to be related to it.

This guy is terribly stupid to play dumble in harry potter. The Original one Richard Harris was 100 times better , he just put a more better feel on him .. The new one is supposed to be the same person but he went from old and wise to now just some guy who looks old but gets physical and its just not the same.
He is terrible and they should of picked another older guy to play it .
