I'm guessing it is because she wanted to use it as leverage in her divorce. She is a failed, washed up, actress who wants that actors income and is unable to do it on her own. I hope every penny goes to the actual victims so she cannot profit from secretly recording her husband during a therapy sesion where is an expectation of privacy among the participants.

She didn't, she reported it to 2 Police Departments straight away. It's becoming public now not being reported to police 2 years later.

            exactly see below
Just an fyi that their divorce documents (available online) reveal that she reported him two years ago (at the t5b4ime of his confession), and the police had possession of the tape at that time. Not sure what took so long, but she handed the info over to the right people to deal with it, and then proceeded to end the marriage. Apparently, he has been dragging the divorce out and she is now afraid that she will be dragged into his lawsuits (from the families) and will end up paying court costs for him.
She also stated that she received threatening phone calls from family members of the victims, even though she did the right thing and reported him. She is also a victim of his actions, as is their daughter. His therapist says that he has narcisstic personality disorder with sociopathic tendencies, who refuses to seek help because he doesn't give a beep about his actions, as he doesn't care about anyone except himself.
He also just resigned from SAG and his reps have still not commented on the story.

I read2000 that he confessed to her in 2010
it took her two years to maneuver him into a position where he would confess again at a time and place that she would be sure to be able to record his confession undetected
She then took the confession to the police in 2012
              Their investigation didn't yield anything
Now two years after that, with her probably not getting what she wants from the divorce
She decided to destroy him publicly
While violating doctor / patient confidentiality
No telling what repercussions this will have in the therapy world

'The comment you made just before I gave birth to our daughter when you said you hoped we didn't have a little boy, because "you just didn't know if you could keep his little penis out of your mouth" was indication enough that you were sick,' Grant wrote in an email obtained by TMZ.
How to explain that then? Their daughter is what, in her 20s? And wife's just now having a problem with his perversions?
If he did these things, and I think he probably did, he is absolutely a sick monster and deserves whatever horrible things happen to him.
HOWEVER, if his wife knew he was a sick monster for nearly 30 years and said nothing until it was convenient for her, then she deserves to be strung up right beside him.
