I guess this just proves what great actor Michael Landona and Karen Grassle were. I just read an interview from a page

It just goes to show what great actors KG and ML were, they had the very best married couple chemistry I have ever seen, so convincing - you can feel the love.
Another interesting thing Melissa Gilbert said about Karen in her DVD interview from "The Last Farewell" is that when she was a tiny girl on the set, she herself wanted to grow up and be just like Karen. Melissa joked that she even tried to get physically near Karen, because she thought that if she did, that would help get some of Karen's qualities to rub off on her. -

Well.. that just goes to prove that what takes place onscreen isn't reality.
Sad, but true.
You hear stories like that all the time. I find that amazing, too - how actors can have such an amazing chemistry onscreen, and then it just doesn't carry over into real life when the director yells "cut." So strange.
And then you hear stories about actors themselves.
Some of the actors who play some of the nicest people on our favorite TV shows and in our favorite movies are jerks in real life.
And on the same token, some of the celebs who play the villains we love to hate onscreen or actors whom we just would NOT imagine to be extremely nice or approachable turn out to be wonderful.
I heard a bad encounter story from a fan about Michael Landon a couple years ago. I kind of took it with a grain of salt, because I don't know what really went on. I'm not discounting the fan's story, but I'm not going to believe a story that can't be proved to me, either. But in all honesty, whenever I hear of Michael Landon these days, or see him on TV or in old video clips, I can't help but think of that story, and wonder. Just goes to show the effect fan encounter stories can have. I kind of wish I'd never heard it.
(In reality, it was probably just a celeb being human and having a bad day. And a fan taking it personally.) -

I've actually heard the opposite in regards to Melissa Gilbert's relationship with Michael Landon. I heard they had a huge falling out, but she later reconciled with him before his death. She was upset over him leaving his wife and their children at the time.

I'd heard Michael Landon could be hard to get 'near'. He was quite aggressive and in control. I bought Karen and Michael as on-screen couple, but I never ever thought Karen looked "comfortable" in that role! She often looked.uncomfortable!
I've heard conflicting reports on Melissa Gilbert's relationship with him, she liked him she didn't etc. etc. But even in the interview I saw where Melissa claimed she really liked him, she herself said he could be manipulating for a scene. He'd get her to cry for a 'sad scene' by telling her he loved her etc. She said she was so touched, and that he may have meant itbut she didn't realize until later that he still was manipulating her by doing that.
He looked like a man I wouldn't want to cross, he always had that vibe about him.
He may have been kind, but he looked tough and often upset also.
"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."
