Why wasn't she in Little house Season 9

Does anyone know why she wasn't in any of season 9 episodes? Personal issues? Did she just walk away from the show? Sorry if it's posted somewhere here on imdb but I didn't see it.

I don't know why Karen Grassle left the show, but Michael Landon didn't. He stayed on as producer and director. The only episodes of the 9th season that he was actually in were Home Again and the first few minutes of Times are Changing.

The show was moving away from the Ingalls family towards the end of the series run and focusing more on Laura and Almonzo and the townspeople. Michael Landon spent more time behind the camera, so was seen less on the show. Charles and Caroline moved away from Walnut Grove and basically were not in the last season which was retitled "Little House: A New Beginning".

i gotta admit, the show just wasnt the same without charles and caroline. this is why i always prefer the earlier seasons, when they were still a family and the girls were still kids. i just didnt find the laura/almanzo stuff nearly as good as the ingalls families stories from the begining of the series.
