Sad news. I was just watching him from his 1960 Twilight Zone episode, Long Live Walter Jameson.
          RIP.

I know who he is from a re-run of Hawaii Five-O, "Full Fathom Five". He was just great in it!
I'm sorry he's dead, but what a hell of a run!

96 Years old. Much like his career, to live a long, and full life like that, is quite an accomplishment. Every year around Halloween I always watch "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers". Because of that movie alone, he won't be forgotten.

I really liked him in Invasion of the Body Snatchers. He was really good in InnerSpace. Boy did he have a long life and career. Other actors should be as lucky.
                        RIP.

I just spoke with Kevin on the phone two weeks ago. He was at his Cape Cod house. He was in great spirits with most of his family present for a visit. He usually spent part of every year at his Cape Cod house.
I recently worked with him on THE GHASTLY LOVE OF JOHNNY X and may very well be the last person to have directed him in a feature film. Hopefully the IMDb will get the title back on the site soon .. but probably too late for Kevin's obit.
Watch an exclusive behind-the-scenes video montage of the late great actor who recently completed work on JOHNNY X:

Kevin Had a house in Sherman Oaks, California and one in Cape Cod, Mass. He divided his time between the two residences.

Do you think the service will be in LA? If there's a public memorial, I'd like to attend it.

That I have no idea about. I am going to email his wife and see if the memorial will be private or public. Chances are it will be private.

That's understandable. If there is a public one, please let us know.

In 2001 I had the honor of meeting Mr. McCarthy at Trek Expo. I have an autographed photo of him from INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS. We spoke for about five minutes or so. We discussed his experience working on the first Hawaii Five-O episode FULL FATHOM FIVE. He fondly remembered it by saying something to the effect of "Ah yes, that was the one where I killed off the rich widows by stuffing them in 55 gallon drums!" and of course he said in that famous Kevin McCarthy way. A very charming and nice man. RIP and you are missed.
