Nicholson and Romero's Jokers were very diffent but both good.Cesar was a jolly fun guy psycho.Jack was a darker and more sinister psycho.I always rather like the Joker they had on Batman animated too-Mark Hamill voiced him brilliantly.

If we are counting voice work, the best Joker for me is Mark Hamill, who is phenomonal and portrays him seamlessly. If not, Heath Ledger gets my vote, he plays Joker for such a moody unpredictability that was so compelling to watch, and I also loved how scary and comical Jack Nicholson was. That said, I love Cesar Romero's Joker, especially in the series, where he is totally insane and just a hoot to watch. When it comes to the 1966 movie, while Romero was great Joker is not written or used as well as he is in the series.

Although my favourite Joker is Jack Nicholson I LOVE Cesar Romero as Joker. I used to watch the Batman series as a kid and it was great fun. All those people who complain about him obviously have no sense o2000f humour.
Nowadays some people claim that Romero (even though many heven't even watched him) is just ridicolous, and they even dare to say that Nicholson is just a joke an Ledger is the ultimate Joker because he's soooo realistic
I didn't like Ledger's Joker. Surely it was well acted but this Batman was lacking any comic appeal -which used to make him so special (well, I have to say I only really like the 60s Batman series and movie and the two first Batman movies by Tim Burton).
I don't know but it seems to that nowadays people/film makers seem to think that only dark, gritty, "realistic" movies are good and therefore there's hardly any difference between Batman, James Bond, Mission Impossible or any other Hollywood action movie. They all lost their typical flair -
