I watched "Forbidden Planet" yesterday and thought how it's one of the movies I can watch again and againand there aren't many I can say that about. It even contributed to the greatest TV sci-fi series ever, "Babylon 5."
R.I.P. Anne Frances. She had a long, memorable career. -

Another Hollywood Great sadly gone.
It's ironic and I'm grateful to have caught
Forbidden Planet
yesterday on TCM. I have always been taken by Anne's style, grace and poise in
Forbidden Planet, Bad Day At Black Rock, The Satan Bug
and her many television roles.
Always thought her role as
Honey West
was ABC's answer to Emma Peel of
The Avengers
. Though Honey was tricked out quite nicely with a pet Ocelot named 'Bruce'. Had a custom Cobra and positively
rocked
as a Private Eye. My heart still belongs to Emma.

Too bad they didn't run "Jess-Belle" during the Twilight Zone marathon as well.
She was a lovely, classy lady and an excellent actress whose private life never seemed to appear in the tabloids. I remember seeing her in an episode of My Three Sons towards the end of its runa most poignant performance.
RIP and heartfelt condolences to her family. I'd like them to know that many loved and appreciated her. -

I saw Anne in her career swan song so to speak, a 2004 appearance on Without a Trace, and may I say that the woman still looked as gorgeous as ever at the age of 73 or 74. Rest in peace, Anne. You will be missed.
