Another Hollywood Great sadly gone.
It's ironic and I'm grateful to have caught
Forbidden Planet
yesterday on TCM. I have always been taken by Anne's style, grace and poise in
Forbidden Planet, Bad Day At Black Rock, The Satan Bug
and her many television roles.
Always thought her role as
Honey West
was ABC's answer to Emma Peel of
The Avengers
. Though Honey was tricked out quite nicely with a pet Ocelot named 'Bruce'. Had a custom Cobra and positively
rocked
as a Private Eye. My heart still belongs to Emma.

Too bad they didn't run "Jess-Belle" during the Twilight Zone marathon as well.
She was a lovely, classy lady and an excellent actress whose private life never seemed to appear in the tabloids. I remember seeing her in an episode of My Three Sons towards the end of its runa most poignant performance.
RIP and heartfelt condolences to her family. I'd like them to know that many loved and appreciated her. -

I saw Anne in her career swan song so to speak, a 2004 appearance on Without a Trace, and may I say that the woman still looked as gorgeous as ever at the age of 73 or 74. Rest in peace, Anne. You will be missed.

Just watching the pilot episode of "Murder She Wrote", & seeing all the deceased actors from the episode: Arthur Hill, Brian Keith, Raymond St. Jacques, Burt Convey & last Anne Francis. I have to check out "Honey West".

R.I.P Anne .
Sure "Forbidden Planet" , "Bad Day at Black Rock" and "Blackboard Jungle" would be enough to leave a great legacy . Add to these three movies her appearances in all the best shows from the classic era of tv and you can bet she'll never be forgotten .
So sad . We will miss you , Anne . -

Not only have I heard and read it, I personally spoke to her several years ago, and she said she respected his considerable talent, but loathed him personally. I have heard the exact same thing from many other actresses who worked with him.

'Also, she suffered the indignity of having Babs, the prima donna, cut and gut nearly her entire performance in Funny Girl.'
Why are you sure of this? I know it sounds sensationalistic, but do you have info the rest of us don't?
