I've read that Miller not only completed schooling as a doctor, but also completed his residency. Does anyone know what his specialty was? Psychiatry, perhaps?

He was an emergency room doctor in the 70s. Supposedly that's part of how he was able to pay for the making of the original MAD MAX.
You get to see a great amount of medical detail and research in his film, LORENZO'S OIL.

I heard something about him witnessing car crash victims and such that are hinted at in the Mad Max films, so probably an emergency room Dr.
