The point is that she doesnt have a great voice. Her voice is mostly average and she tends to oversing and to oversing with an average voice doesnt sound great

I always like Mary J. Blige's albums and stuff. She is not that bad. She is really good on Love no Limit. She has a great voice in that. I also like I am going down too.

Her voice might not be the best from a technical standpoint, but the reason why her fans love her is because you FEEL what she's singing. It doesn't matter that she doesn't hit the best note or whatever since the emotion is there.

I agree with rmcrae. Also, her voice declined over the years. She actually had a pretty good voice back in the 90s, but these days it does get raspy and pitchy.

What are you smoking? Mary has one of the best voices in R&B history. No wonder Chakha is an influence, because I can see Chakha in her. You may not like her oversinging, but I think Mary is the best vocalist of this era. Also, people like her because of her music and the stuff she sings, not necessarily because of her voice.
