I've been a huge fan of Amanda's since The Amanda Show on Nickelodeon and I've grown up with her, I had her movies, etc. and she was really popular in my house growing up. She was always such a sweet person and it's so sad to see what happened to her but it looks like she has some sort of mental illness (possibly Schizophrenia). Do you think she will get well and back to her old self, and if so, do you think she will ever come back? If she wants to live a life out of the business for the rest of her life that's totally fine but I'd love to see her back.

Amanda Bynes can clean that mud right off of her and get back if that's What a Girl Wants.
Talent like that does not just disappear into thin air. You have to be a little mad by ordinary standards to have that kind of genius at such a young age.
She just needs to be focus and dedicated to making her life the best it can be. -

This might sound bad, but in a way I hope she doesn't. Let me explain.
The Hollywood lifestyle is rough. You're constantly in the limelight, constantly being picked on, constantly being told you have to act a certain way, that kids are looking up to you and you have to be a good role model for them, blah blah blah. Not to mention that film acting isn't exactly the cake walk people think it is. It's 12 hour days, 6 day weeks on set where you're expected to always be "on". All to make a movie that people may not even see or like. It's honestly a wonder more actors don't break down.

I think she said one time "Acting isn't as fun as people think it is" (probably not the exact quote but whatevs). Why should she continue in a career that isn't making her happy? It's not like she has to for financial reasons. I don't know if she'll ever be completely out of the limelight, but I hope she can spend her time doing something she loves, something that will put her mind at ease.
And for those of you saying "we want Amanda!"- you still have her old movies and shows you can watch. Be glad we got this talented young woman as long as we did. -

I guess she grew tired of it and lost that passion within her.

Sounds similar to a doctors work. Yet, you do not tell people not to be doctors. If she comes back, she comes back. I would love to see her in more movies. -

Amanda seemed to me to be a most incredibly relaxed person who actually enjoyed what she was doing, especially in her later Movies. I was really surprised at the direction in which her life went.
Sadly, this sort of thing happens to even the most talented people. Perhaps even more often to the most talented people.

I was thinking of random actors I haven't seem for a while and looked up Amanda here -
I used to love watching her show too! She was just so funny and adorable. I was da0really amazed with some of the comedy she was doing - almost seemed to be channeling Carol Burnette at times. My daughter & I still repeat funny lines from that show all these years later!
I wish her all the very best whether she goes back to acting or not, and she certainly does not need to be bothered at all by rude comments about her weight by some people on this board who apparently have bought into the idea that twig-thin somehow equals beauty.
Mental & physical health IS the truest way to guenuine beauty.
