you'd be surprised by what "totally white" southerners have in their gene pools. Many black folks in the south would pass for white, go on and live "white" lives, marry other white people (some of whom passed for white, too), and have "white" kids. All the while, they've been black the whole time.

Right, but Black and Native American (or any other race) equals JUST BLACK. So here's this Black (from diverse background) guyb68 with very non-negroid features. Then you see a white guy and go, "hey he looks like that Black guy" when in actuality the Black guy prob has less Black blood in him than any other. The one drop rule. You see in the endas in the beginningALL IS BLACK

Hey, I didn't make the rules I just interpret them.
Love is the answerbut bring the extra clip in-case. -

Billy Ray has Cherokee in him; how much I don't know. You can totally tell in his and Miley's bone structure. My gene pool is pretty much the samewhite from Kentucky & Tennessee with measurable Cherokee and Blackfoot.

My paternal great-grandmother was a full-blood Blackfoot from Illinois; while my paternal great-great-grandmother was a full-blood Cherokee from Tennessee. I am only about 10% Native American and the rest is European. I am VERY PROUD of that 10% though!
Anyway, I think many people down South (Black & White) have Native blood; much more than other parts of the US. There is an interesting documentary by Henry Louis Gates which aired on PBS called African American Lives 2. In one segment, he addressed how much Native American blood some celebrites have. Some were very surprised they had 0% (like Tina Turner) and some were surprised to have more than they thought (like Oprah). It's a very good film.
