My God, the relentless provincialism of some people is unbearable. Step away from the computer, travel a little, see the world and learn something. There are plenty of white Latinos (eg. this girl, Alexis Bledel, Julie Gonzalo, Carlos Ponce, etc.) just like there are plenty of black Latinos (Zoe Saldana, Gina Torres, etc.) and Latinos of many colors and shades in between.

Latino is not a race. I don't understand how so many Americans can be so ignorant about this considering what a large latino population the country has.
Latin American is very racially diverse due to the European colonizers, the Africans who were brought over as slaves, the native indigenous populations, immigration, etc.

Good god peopl2000e I posted this a long time ago. Commenting about how ignorant I am because I didn't know. It's stupid, and I am ignorant, I don't get to travel at all ever because I AM POOR. This was never meant to be rude or racist. I was just noticing something that surprised me. You don't have to be a bunch of jerks about it. Sorry I ever said anything.
And whoever decided to call all Americans ignorant because of one thing I said? That's a bit of a stretch and that makes you quite ignorant yourself.

Well, you have access to a computer. Do some research, maybe? You don't have to travel to know about the world, people in other countries, other cultures, etc. It is all accessible to you with just a few clicks. I don't blame you. I think it is mostly the media's fault. All you see in Hollywood are the dark skinned Latinos and it gives the impression that all Latinos look like that, when it is not true. I am also Cuban like her and I am white too. Most Cubans I know are white, especially the ones here in the U.S. There are Latinos/Hispanics of every race and also those who are mixed, just like people here in the U.S

Cut the OP a break. Hollywood has a lot to do with confusing people and they won't know to find the truth unless they're aware that they've been mislead in the first place.

I remember back when Roswell came out I was so confused by her name being Maria (I was 9 though.) But A L238OT of the time I meet a Latino and they think that I, a blonde hair green eye pale as a ghost white girl, am also latino. I never say it to their face but i always think, what an idiot would think this but apparently it's not that uncommondunno

Have you seen a photo of Joanna Kerns? She played the mom on "Growing Pains". Look her up.
BTW, as others have stated, there is no "one look" for ALL people of a particular heritage. DNA is made of countless combinations of genetic coding.

Exactly my thought: "Simple answer - genetics is strange."

People have to remember Spain is in Europe right next to France, and people in Spain also have some Celtic and Germanic (Visigothic) mixture which they brought to Latin America. You also had many French, Italian, German even Irish immigrants who mixed in with population of Latin America. Many people for some reason don't know this.
