DOES SHE LIKE ACTING?

If you go to Media Blvd to Majandra's message board there is a Q&A thread and Majandra is pretty good about taking the time to answer people questions. Not sure when the next set of questions will be sent to her but you could ask her over there and get a truthful answer from the only person who knows how Majandra feelsMajandra herself instead of people who will tell you what they 'think' Majandra feels be it good or bad.

I'm a fan of hers, but I agree with the underlying sentiment expressed, if not the actual words. Mo had the biggest mouth in critisizing Roswell, wanting to get off the show and only acting to fund her music career. A VERY dumb move on her partwhich IS probably why she's scratching for TV guest spots and TV movies and is eager to return to TV(probably because of the success of former co-stars Katherine Heigl and Emilie de Ravin). She has a great voice but in reality, actor/musicians are a dime a dozen and an actor who publically lambasted their job several times really sink their chances of success.

Like her former co-stars Brendan and Jason, Mo's career is going nowhere. Those two cocky boys who thought they were too good for Roswell are both scrambling for crumbs. b68BF has two lines on CSI-Miami, and he is not in every ep. JB, who showed signs of talent season 1, has settled for cheesy b-movies.
Majandra is a decent enough singer, but her voice and her music style is not unique. Even the artwork on her first cd is a rip off of Madonna. I would venture to bet those three are wishing they had been more appreciative on Roswell. -

I Majandra as an actress, but she does seem to regret being on Roswell which is how she got anywhere. Im a loyal Roswellian so im going to defend it. Shiri, Katie, and Emilie are all doing well. Shiri is on 6 degrees regularly, Katie is obviously on Greys Anatomy, and Emilie is on LOST. I would like to see Brendan, Jason, and Nick though. It seems like the dropped off the face of the earth. I always though Nick Wechlser was a really great guy.

Shiri is on Six Degrees as a guest-star. Her USA show will most likely be picked up. I would like to see Nick succeed, he is a really good actor. JB and BF b5b4oth suck, especially BF. Watch CSI sometimes, dude can't even emote to his one line when he's on.

I always liked Majandra best, but when I started to read all the things she said about Roswell I just couldn't stand her anymore. She destroyed her career because of that. If I would be a director I would never want her in my film because you can never know if she is going to talk bad about it afterwards. Also she is not a committed actress she only uses acting to bring her music career to life.
She always said that she wants to go back to music and that she sees ''no redeeming social value in being on Roswell'', not even as a vehicle to launch her music career.
''It could have been a vehicle, but if anything, I see it as kind of like a hindrance,'' Delfino said. ''People think I'm my character. Unfortunately, I play this really peppy, ditzy character,'' she said.
She always said that she wants to go on tour to promote her album "The St5b4icks" but Roswell is holding her back. ''If 'Roswell' gets canceled, I'll definitely go out on tour,'' Delfino said. ''It's like the lowest-rated show on TV. It's kind of stifling to be working every day and have just about one person watch it. I don't even care if no one comes to the shows. I just don't want anyone to come and yell, 'Maria!' If they do, they'll be quietly escorted out by security.''
''I took Roswell because I was interested in seeing how it would be,'' Delfino said. ''I saw, so that's all I needed''
She is so ungrateful. She always complained about how Maria is nothing like her in real life, well Majandra that's what is called acting. -

Uh, what's the source on that article there?
Roswell has been over for years now. Do you really think anyone's performance on that show made or broke their career? Do you think anyone really cares how an 18-20 year old working on the set of a low-rated UPN show felt about it now, several years later? Look at how successful Katherine is now on GA's, I have rarely heard them bring up her Roswell background if only for the fact that no one remembers the show!
As for Majandra, so what if she is more passionate about her musical career than acting? And if she's not in a top-rated TV show or movie, does that mean she's a miserable failure? Perhaps it's her choice? She seems quite committed to getting her own music/art out there, making independent movies and whatnot. Maybe she is less interested in the fame/success aspect of the entertainment industry than the artistic side of things.
And do you really think she is out to be the next pop princess with a record deal? Her music off The Sicks is not exactly mainsteam type.
I popped over to Majandra's page today because I was wondering what she was up to instead I see all these people bashing the crap out of her for no apparent reason. Nice. -

I don't know whether you can still find them, but when Roswell's third season wound down, a few articles(Seventeen's website, to list one) came out where she basically verbally spat on the three years she spent working on Roswell.
No one else went public about their feelings concerning the show. Only Majandra did and they were all negative. I personally, not being in the entertainment industry, cannot say that criticizing a show will destroy your career(hey, look at Shannen Doherty and her miracul111cous career resurrections!), but it's apparent that her vocal criticism of a show that would have ended after Sn 1(if not for the grace of both the WB and UPN) would probably cause casting directors to view her askance.
I'm not saying that Majandra shouldn't have wanted to focus on her music, but industry professionals don't look too kindly upon potential clients/actors/etc stating outright that the position they're seeking is JUST a stepping stone for a different career/position. It casts serious doubts that potential client's reliability and committment. Think about "normal" life: if you went to a job interview at Pizza Hut, do you think you'd be hired if you told the interviewer you were only there for the money? Yes, you want a job to get paid, but the company wants to fill the position with someone who
wants
to contribute something to the Pizza Hut, not someone who wants to make a quick buck and will probably jump ship when they find a better paying job(which is why most interviewers and applications ask how long the applicant plans on staying at the job if hired). On ANTM, a contestant, when eliminated told the judges that she didn't really want to be there, she just wanted to use the show as a springboard for her career in fashion design. Does that sound like something that should be said if a person wanted to continue in the industry?
As for Katherine and Emilie: they didn't make any public statements and comments about their feelings about Roswell, Majandra did.
And in the end, the proof is in the pudding. -

I feel I do have a reason not to like her. We all liked the show. I know I miss Roswell and was rooting for it when it was on the air. But to hear her bash the show, sucked. That was kinda mean. She was basically dissing the fans. Saying only one person watched the show, she knew that wasn't true. Cause I don't feel I was the only one.

Although EdR, not that I know of, never said anything negative about Roswell. She did say she was hired to save the show. Big ego on that one.
KH did also put her big flat foot in her bigger mouth

Hollywood Grapevine
Katherine Heigl so disliked playing a teen on on the Sci-fi series Roswell that she deliberately showed up late for work.
"I felt so helpless that I'd signed a contract for something I wasn't happy with" she says. "Being late was my little rebellion".
She's happier now, starring in ABC's upcoming move "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion" in which two best friends go to Hollywood. Heigl plays the Mira Sorvino part.
"I worked hard not to be late!"
Its not as if she was a teen whose parent had to sign her contract. She was an adult, grow the f up and show up on time. -

Reading back on this thread, I have to be honest and say that her comments were pretty disappointing. I loved her character, like her music and acting but she certainly should have been more grateful for working on a show like Roswell, as should the other cast members who complained. So what if people like you because of Maria? If I were her, I'd be honoured to have people tell how great they think my work is, even if my character did not in any way resemble the person that I actually am.

in the 3rd season she did bash the show close to the end or in the end in a few places, but then after she was off for a few months took a break and did an epi. of boston public she went back and said she wished she could do roswell againb68. she was just so frustrated w/the way she was portrayed in the end, the way her character was diminished and the politics behind everything that was going on and the turn of the show that everything got her mad frustrated her to no end. she always says now, like in a recent interview she did for her new album, that she loved the whole roswell thing and she'd do it again. if i can find the link to the interview i'll post it.

Well look at Katherine Heigl now bashing the writers on Greys Anatomy because she wants out of her contract..Some people have to slap the hand that brought them to fame
Bring Rachel Weisz and Oded Fehr Back!!!! -

wow i didnt realise all the cast members hated their roles, how ungreatful can you be, its like beep on all the fans who kept the show going (their saleries). I never realised either how much of a biatch katherine heigl was, if it is true and she complains about everything shes doing, why is she an actress? I think though that Shiri appleby and Emilie de ravin appreciated roswell and their roles. I know Emilie is a really nice girl in real life, and look where she is now, shes probably the most famous of them all as shes got a role in one of the biggest shows around right now, and Shiri always sounded so pleasent and appreciated on the extras on roswell, but Brendan sounded so cocky the way he spoke about it, i just wanted to slap him or something he looked so bored, and Jason well i dont know really he seemed ok. The sherif was hilarious as was colin hanks on the extras they really got into their roles, didn't take them too seriously. I always thought Maj was the same but clearly not? So who of them all has bashed roswell then? for deffinate? i take it there won't be a movie anytime soon! lol ive been really rooting for o1c84ne recently!
i miss roswell! It wasnt resolved somehow! -

i never watched roswell when it was on, but caught up with it on DVD and loved it. it sucks to hear the stars trashing it. it was never as good as it was the 1st season, but i still enjoyed it. it kinda found its way again in season 3.
heigl has a reputation for trashing projects that she's been associated with and biting the hand that feeds her. but it's surprising to hear some of the comments delfino made about her experience on the show. roswell is the only thing i know her from and her music career hasn't exactly set the world on fire. she auditioned for the mena suvari role in american beauty, which could have made her a star, but she talked about making a face when they told her kevin spacey would be the older guy her character gets involved with. a talented and dedicated actress would have been able to get past not being attracted to the guy and tried to get the role. that was a huge oscar-winning hit that many people would have loved to be associated with.
i can't believe how bitchy and ungrateful these people are, getting their big breaks and starring roles in a weekly show that plenty of starving actors would kill for and seeming like it's a burden or somehow beneath them. don't they realize how hard it is to make a living in hollywood?
