I haven't seen either of them acting a lot. I like Hallie better, though, in the small amount of stuff I've seen her in Dakota seems to be very smug and full of herself now, and I haven't liked her acting a lot. She's good, but I just like Hallie better.

I think they're both overrated and don't like either. Fanning is always annoying with her screams and what not, and I dislike Hallie for those pepsi commercials I could not stand. I don't know who decides what kids become 'big' child stars, and get wealthy for pretty much nothing, but they should've skipped both of these if you ask me. There are lots of much smarter and cuter kids out there!

I absolutely love hallie and think she is the cutest little girl ever but her acting skills are not quite as pruned and polished as Dakota Fanning. Also Dakota is the type that can play any part. Hallie is more a romantic comedy cutesy poofy girl. I mean honestly could you imagine Hallie playing Dakota Fannins role in , Taken, War of the Worlds ???? Dakota does creepy kid so well. Hallie would play a GREAT psycho bitch teen if she got the chance but who knows.

Clearly the best is Dakota Fanning. Come on now people be serious. No offense to Hallie who is a promising up and coming talent but Dakota's talent is here now, which can be atested for by her serious list of A-list co-stars. I hope Hallie and Dakota both have long careers though, they are both talented, and adorable, but one has more potential.

Well I wouldn't use War of the Worlds as a good acting job for Dakota, because I thought she was terrible in that movie! She overacted a lot and just screamed the whole time. I also just felt like I was watching Dakota the whole time instead b68of her character. She's done better films than that so I think you guys should use better films of hers to back up your point.
Also just because you are in movies with A-list stars doesn't make you good. Especially if you've become popular many times studios will just use you for your name. I mean look at Keanu Reeves. He is really not a good actor but he's been in movies with Charlize Theron and Al Pacino, and he's set to play a large role in The Day the Earth Stood Still with Kathy Bates, Jennifer Connelly and John Cleese. I think some people's arguments for other actors are ridiculous. Just because one of your favorite actors is a well known celebrity and has been in movies with A-list actors doesn't make them actually talented.
And please don't take me as a Dakota hater. I'm not, I think she's talented, but I think she's been overblown by the media. And she does seem to have gotten big headed, so hopefully she'll come back down from that. -

Hallie was an adorable kid. Dakota was not. Sorry, she just wasn't. She had those giant blue bug eyes that were spaced too far apart. In fact, when she was really young she looked like an alien. Hallie had those very soft, dark brown eyes that were spaced evenly. And sorry, but Dakota played basically the same role over and over - a precocious, smarter-than-all-the-adults little know-it-all.
