And her Character had black light skinned parents, maybe he thought she was adopted?
Anyway the Cosby environnement has always tried to show black of all shades with equal treatment, the Huxtable families had the 2 older sister very light skinned while the vanessa, theo and rudy were darker and their parents loved all kids the same
in A Different World, Kimmy was way darker than Whitley but wasn't presented as unatractive since she had as many romantic liaisons on the show as Whitley and maybe more She was actually presented as much more descent individual than Whitley dedicated to school, her career, little time to have fun, working hard to make ends meet While Whitley who was this bourgeois out of touch manipulative bitch who matured into a much more descent person over the years though
In reality i think Marion & Mercer Gilbert characters could have had a daughter with that shade of blackness even though they were darker than she is anyway this is the2000 first time i see someone question Jasmien Guy blackness she has has always viewed herself as black and her character of Whitley has never been questionned about her skin shade on and off the show

I hope you did not watch the show that made her famous "a different world" because if you thought she was white (u could not possibly think she was monoracial black) then did you think her black although lightskinned parent on the show Marion and Mercer Gilbert were her adoptive parents? and maybe Whitley called herself african-american just because she thought it was cool LOL

I saw another one of your posts on this board. This one above coupled with the other one confirms that you're pretty much a moron. Seriously. A. Moron.
The OP likely thought Guy was simply a black woman because that's how the character on the show was portrayed. I'm biracial myself and even I didn't know she was biracial back then. Most people don't question it unless they're curious or super obsessed with the race of a person. Lighten the hell up.

What did you think she was? Purely Hispanic?
She doesn't look quite "white" and she certainly doesn't look "black".
Actually, she does look black. There are black people who are not biracial who look like her.

You mean biracial people who either don't know they're biracial or admit to being biracial, who look like she.
If you were to give those supposedly "black" people a DNA test, you'd see what I mean.

Then you could say the same thing about white people. Whitey Mcwhite Heather Locklear took a similar DNA test which found her to be mixed with black blood.

Of course. Many "white" people are mixed with "black" blood.

No, Heather Locklear's was fairly recent.

LOL - it never crossed your mind that Jasmine might be biracial? I probably knew within 10 minutes of the start of the first episode of "A Different World".
One "clue" was that she had a similar look to Lisa Bonet - and I knew that Lisa was biracial. Actually, Jasmine might be lighter than Lisa - and has a straighter hair-texture than Lisa does.
I find it ironic that - having just come from the Tisha Campbell-Martin board - where there are umpteen threads of people speculating that Tisha is biracial (she isn't) - I come to the Jasmine Guy board, and the first thread I see is "I Never Knew She Was Biracial". Life's a trip, I swear.

I thought this too but it's mostly because on the Martin show, Martin would sometimes refer to her as 'redbone.'
