Loves her!

OMG I know - that Boogie Shoes scene. AUGH!!! Totally amazing. You won't believe this though - she actually dances to Boogie Shoes in Sports Night too! I always wondered if the one on DH is a "tribute" of sorts to Sports Night. The Sports Night version isn't quite as "sexy" as it is on DH, but she's still adorable. Here it is
I've never met her but I think that if I ever did, I'd stammer and look like a complete loser. I would be so self-conscious, too, and would probably not even know what to say!! But all the same, I would never pass up the opportunity to meet her. However, as I live in Canada, that's just about impossible. -

What a cute scene. Thanks for the link! I am going to Have to get that series on DVD. I wouldn't have the slightest clue as to what to say to her if I ever met7ec her but like you said I wouldn't pass up the chance to meet her. But seeing as how I am a poor college student in Florida I don't see that happening anytime soon..lol. This just sucks for us! I want to go out to California so bad. I have a cousin who lives out there and goes to Universal all the time and has taken that back lot tour onto the set a couple of times. Well she had never seen Desperate Housewives and she was like yeah it was cool I guess. I was like whatever! I would chop my left hand off to go tour the set..lol. I know I sound crazy but I just love that show! I was not much of a TV watcher at all and am a recent Felicity Fan. I saw her in Georgia Rule and was like wow she is a great actress what else has she been in? So that is when I bought the first season of DH like two years after it came out (I dont know why I hadnt seen it until then). Now it is all history, I am hooked..lol. Is the first think you saw her in Sports Night? I saw her in this trailer for The Spanish Prison? I think was the name of it? I had never heard of it but the movie is supposedly like 10 years old and she was in it. Sorry if I sound like I am rambling, if someone asks me who my favorite actress is I am like Felicity Huffman, and everyone I have told is like who? I have just started referring to her as Bill Macy's wife, people seem to get it that way
Anyhow is 12 AM and I gotta work in 6 hours so I think I am going to jump off here..lol Hope you have a decent Wednesday!
The old dreams were good dreams; they didn't work out, but I'm glad I had them. -

Don't worry about rambling. I could do that forever about Felicity, LOL. You MUST MUST get the Sports Night series. I am pretty sure it comes out as a 10th anniversary edition at the end of September. I actually have the regular edition, but I think I'm still going to buy the new one, since the one I have is just strictly the show - no extras, no nothing else. The anniversary edition is going to have blooper reels, interviews with the cast, etc. So it should be awesome.
I actually got into her after having watched Transamerica. I was watching the interview with her and Duncan Tucker after the movie (it's on the DVD as a special feature) and I was totally astounded by how lovely she was/is. I had always just sort of flipped through DH on TV. After I had seen Transamerica, I just went out and bought S1 of DH. I didn't even start watching the whole series until last summer. So last summer was a DH fest - S1-S3. I too love that show. It's just soooo amazing. I can't believe your cousin got to walk the back lot. I would give almost anything to do that.
Since the dawning of my "obsession", I've tried to watch everything she's done. I think she's the best actor out there. She truly is incredible. And in the interviews she did for Transamerica she was just so sweet about it. I think she really tried hard to learn about trans issues and was not just acting - she was really "feeling" her character's pain herself. That's the sign of an amazing actor in my opinion. Here's an interview with her on Letterman where she talks about it. Dave actually seems reeeally insensitive and ignorant about things. Part One:
and Part Two:
Yep, I'm a Canuck with no funds to get out to the studios. It does suck. I alway see candid shots of her posted on various websites - people just see her walking around LA. Must be nice!!!! I don't see anyone famous here, except maybe when I go to Toronto.
Just because you share my obsession, I'll try to find you another clip of her dancing on Sports Night. Then I'll get back to work
Here you go: -
Juliet_Alpert — 17 years ago(July 24, 2008 05:41 PM)
LMAOI must say again how great it is to meet someone who is just as obsessed as Felicity Huffman as I am. So obsessed I have to say I have already seen that video and the clips of her dancing but thank you so much for finding them for me. That part in the dancing clip when she turns around and was like whats up? It cracks me up every time.
I am just like you in that I am a late Desperate Housewives lover and bought all three season and watched them earlier this year. I saw Georgia Rule and then TransAmerica and they are both fabulous but there are not even words to describe TransAmerica. It was such an amazing film and I cant imagine how much she went through to get ready but it definitely showed. I swear its like the first time I saw her in that movie I was like what is going on? But by the end of the film Bree turned into this beautiful amazing lovable woman and she never even changed at all. Duncan Tucker is an Amazing film maker and made such and amazing movie! Felicity most def. broke my heart in this movie ugh! Georgia Rule too. Do you remember that scene when she had been drinking and and walked outside in the bathrobe and she lost her top. Just that look on her face was freaking heartbreaking! And David Letterman is kind of a butt head so I see what you are saying about that interview.
I wish they would put up more information on the movie she has coming out next it sounds pretty good, the Politicians Wife. I also know she had that movie Phoebe in Wonderland in Sundance did you ever hear if that one got picked up?
Well the laundry isnt going to fold itself so I better hit the laundry room, I hope you are having fun at work! And hope you enjoy the rest of your night
The old dreams were good dreams; they didn't work out, but I'm glad I had them. -
snowprincess67 — 17 years ago(July 25, 2008 03:53 PM)
It's funny because just as I posted those links for you I thought to myseb68lf, "If she's as obsessed as I am, she'll already have seen these". And sure enough! I sometimes spend my time watching videos of her on YouTube. So sad, I know! But I can't help it! I do have a life, contrary to what it might seem, haha.
I agree with you about Transamerica. It bothers me when people say she's ugly in that movie because she is so NOT ugly. I actually thought she was pretty cute. Sure, the heavy makeup was a bit much, but you can see past all of that. And her eyes (well, Bree's eyes) just say, "I hurt. Love me." And so it's easy to do. And that scene when Toby kisses her. MAN that broke my heart. She was so vulnerable there. And then when she says "I beep up" in the hospital room with her therapist there, I wanted to just hug her so tightly. That scene broke my heart, too.
I LOVED Georgia Rule. I'm not a huge Lindsay fan, but she really is a good actress when she's in the right movie. And together with Felicity that was a great movie. I loved that scene when Lindsay came home and Felicity was waiting up for her and she said, "The only thing I have left is my love for you." Or something to that effect. UGH! She's awesome.
Ok - gonna log off now. Have a great weekend!! -
Juliet_Alpert — 17 years ago(July 26, 2008 01:01 PM)
I watch some of her youtube stuff as well and contrary to popular belief I have a life too..lol.
I totally forgot about that scene in TransAmerica, that was a heartbreaking one just the look on her face just rips your heart out of your chest. She is one hell of an actress. I was really impressed with that one scene in Desperate Housewives when her and Tom were in the hospital right after she found out about Kayla and she turned to him and told him she had already let him go..That was another killer one. She is amazing.
Well hope you have a good weekend and hope to hear from you soon.

Oh yes, the "I've already let you go" scene. Augghhh!!! That killed me.
At the risk of having you see this again (as if that would be such a bad thing :)), here's a recent vid from YT that I found. Looks like it is from the same night as the first video I posted in this thread. Don't you love how sometimes when she speaks her voice cracks? I don't know if it's just me that has noticed this as an obsessed fan, but you probably have too
You can hear it in this video at approx 1:40 -
Juliet_Alpert — 17 years ago(July 29, 2008 05:22 AM)
As a fellow Felicity Huffman obsessee..lol. I have noticed her little voice crack and I think its adorable. It works for her and I think thats one of the things that makes her so charming kind of like a trade mark
If I can recall I think I can remember noticing when she gets to yelling or when she gets to really crying. Like the time she killed Mrs. Mullberry, soooo funny yet her getting so upset seemed so genuine. I felt so bad for Lynette when Parker started acting up. Thanks for posting the video, I hadn't seen that one yet! Ugh and let me tell you I really hope Tom does calm down this season because ever since the whole "throwing his back out Rick thing" he was going crazy and I just wanted to beat him in the head.
I was looking for a new Felicity picture because I was changing around the myspace and I came across the goofiest flipping pictures of her and Bill so I thought I would share, although warning there is a chance you have already seen them :)))

snowprincess67 — 17 years ago(August 01, 2008 09:14 PM)
Oh, I know what you mean about Tom in Season 4. I actually began to reeeeally dislike him, and I usually always liked him. But he can be SUCH a suck. Poor Lynette is always working the hardest in that marriage, in more ways than one.
Although, remember that scene with the the two 1c84guys wanting to back out of their committment ceremony and Tom gave that amazing speech about sticking with your partner through everything because no disaster or disease could ever tear them apart. That was pretty amazing. I just wished Lynette and he would have kissed longer. She just gave him a quick little peck. But I guess that was to show just how much they understood each other, and that was all that was needed.
Thanks for posting the photos! I had seen most of them, but not all of them. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE that last one with her in the blue turtle-neck with the scarf. She is so beautiful, and she looks so playful and flirty in that shot.
I'm going on vacation tomorrow for a week. Visiting the set of DH - Ha! Just kidding. As if I would be this calm if that were the case. But I am going on vacation. Hope you have a good week and I'll "talk" to ya later. -
Juliet_Alpert — 17 years ago(August 02, 2008 09:35 PM)
I swear we have some sort of Felicity ESP, because I thought the same thing when Tom have that speech right before the neighbors wedding. I was like "NO! SWEEP HER OFF HER FEET AND KISS HER!" but it does make more sense and seems sort of sweet when you describe it the way that you did.
No lie I was reading your post and didn't even finish the sentence when you said you were going to see the DH set. I almost fell of my bed, I wanted to yell through the screen and tell you to take me with you and then I saw the just kidding part..lol I promise if I ever do make it there, Which I will one day. You will be the first to know
That was so funny that you watched TransAmerica on DVD around the same time I did. Ugh it never ceases to amaze me how special some people are. I made my friend watch it and she called me up afterwards and didn't have any clue as to why I would think that was a good movie, she hated it! I re watched the scene you were talking about earlier and it really was a very sweet scene, she just has this look in her eyes that even through the television makes you feel safe, if that makes any sense at all..lol She has this crazy ability to just completely crush your heart with one look, but as mentioned before nothing beats the hospital scene at the end, genius! It really is a beautiful movie and I wish people would take the time to really watch it and see it for what it is.
Ugh and like you said, do not even get me started on Reese Witherspoon either, I liked her a little bit but ever since she beat Felicity out any small feeling that resembled a liking disappeared. I mean come on now! I think I posted about this in another thread. I mean they are not even on the same level of acting. I mean yes walk the line was good but COME ON! Look at all of the preparation Felicity had to go through and how much more endearing and genuine her performance was! Felicity was the Van Gogh and Reese was the side walk chalk seriously
I don't get it but I am going to stop before this turns into a book.
Well I hope that you are able to get some rest on your vacation and I hope you have a good time and a good week! Talk to you soon.

No I don't think she has had any plastic surgery, if so not much. She looks exactly the same as she did 15 years ago. I thought she was gorgeous in Georgia Rule but that is just my opinion. She is has her own sort of quirky down to earth beauty but it most definitely works for her, I think she is by far one of the prettiest actresses out in Hollywood.

snowprincess67 — 17 years ago(August 10, 2008 05:26 PM)
I don't think she's had plastic surgery either. But, I suppose when I really think about it she DOES look pretty young, so she's probably had some minor face lifting or brow work, but I don't think she looks like she has - in other words, if she did have surgery, she had it done right. When you look at pics from her in Out of Order, you can see that she looks a little older then than she does now, so that probably means she has had some work done. Although, she's so dang skinny now and was a regular weight in OOO, so maybe that's the difference. She's beautiful either way. I thought she looked pretty in Georgia Rule!
I can't wait to see her in just over a month!! -
Juliet_Alpert — 17 years ago(August 10, 2008 08:13 PM)
Is there something you aren't telling me??? What is that I can't wait to see her in just over a month? Are you talking about Felicity? If so I might have to kill you and take your place..lol Okay so your point was well received. Maybe a little botox some where but definitely not enough to make her look fake. Please don't kill me but I have never seen Out Of Order. I know I am a disgrace to Felicity fans but I will most def. check it out. She is super skinny but still gorgeous. I also thought she was really pretty in Georgia Rule as well. Do you remember that scene in her bedroom after she had gotten that call from Georgia telling her about Rachel and she just had this stunned look on her face? I remember thinking she looked really pretty then, she didn't have any make up she just looked real natural, that is when I always think she looks the prettiest. I just want to steal some of the womans geneslol

I re-read my post and realized that to a fellow obsessee like you
you probably freaked when you saw that I "can't wait to see her"!! Unfortunately I only mean see her on TV when the new season starts.
I have not seen the full series of Out of Order. Only the pilot episode is available on DVD. I bought that off of ebay. Felicity plays a lady named Lorna who is clinically depressed. Ohmygoodness you will CRY when you see this. Her emotions are so raw and open. It's an incredible performance. I only wish I saw the whole series, but as far as I know it is not available on DVD (just the pilot, which is worth investing in. I think I got mine for less than $20 on ebay). There's one scene when she breaks down and says she just hurts so much. Then she starts sobbing. It would break your heart.
And that scene in GR when she got the call?? YES!!! That's one of the ones that crushed me. She just looked so upset and stunned. She's definitely prettiest when she's not wearing any makeup, even though she's totally beautiful with it as well. -

Here's a video someone made from Out of Order.

Holy crap, I just wanted to cry watching some of those scenes and I had no idea what was going on. I found this video on Youtube a while back which you most likely have already seen but some of these in this video were so amazing and I have no idea where they came from. Like the very first clip..do you have any idea where that one came from?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgpfGfbpRRM
She just looks so upset I just want to go give her a hug!lol I will get on amazon and ebay right now and see if I can order the same DVD you did because I definitely want to see more of that show and from what I can tell from other people it seems like a good one.
I am sooooo stoked about the anniversary edition of Sports Night coming out. I already pre-ordered it (thanks to you :)) I cant believe it I am having such Felicity Huffman withdrawals September is going to be like Christmas with Sports Night, Season 4 of DH coming out and Season 5 beginning I CANT WAIT!

You make me laughwe're so friggin' obsessed!! But I love it! Yes, you MUST order Out of Order. Most of those scenes were not from the Pilot, so I don't have any idea of what was going on, either. Whenever that girl cries, I just want to jump into the TV and into her "world" and hug her. If she's that good at acting, imagine how she is when she really is authentically upset. Geez, my heart would probably break into a million pieces. Anoth2000er good show for you to get is Snap Decision. Have you seen that? It's one of those Lifetime Original movies. Felicity plays a photographer who snaps innocent pictures of her friend's kids in their undewear and with no shirts on. The friend takes the photos go get developed and the guy at the photo lab has reported her for child abuse. The whole thing gets blown waaay out of proportion. It is SUCH an amazing movie. Felicity has a secondary role to Mare Winningham, who plays the mom, but she's still in it quite a bit. You can also order this movie from Amazon. Here's a picture of her with Mare and some lucky guy

http://www.broadway.com/site_images/548390.jpg
I will have to order the anniversary edition of Sports Night. I didn't do that yet. I didn't notice it on Amazon.ca yet. Just Amazon.com. So I will have to check.
Christmas in September it will be - SO MUCH FLICKA to look forward to. I hope she is on some late night TV. We'll have to keep our eyes peeled to the late night interview schedule.
I'll take a look at the YouTube video you posted. Thanks! -
Juliet_Alpert — 17 years ago(August 12, 2008 07:10 PM)
AHHH I almost died when I read your post because three days ago I ordered Snap Decision on Amazon! We have some sort of freaky mind thing going on I am telling you!
And I am very sad but very happy to say I just ordered Out of Order on Amazon for a whopping .96 cents. I am most certain she is worth more than that but thats okay.
I am so looking forward to the Flicka interviews that will inevitably emerge when the show starts. I am still waiting for an inside the actors studio with her on it. I can see it now. I swear if there was a Felicity Huffman field team we could be the presidents! Wouldn't that be a dream job?

Too freaky that you just ordered Snap Decision. You will love it. Do you ever wonder if she reads these boards? I'd probably be kind of embarassed if she did, but still, I wonder what she'd think if she read our posts. Would she be flattered or freaked out? LOL
Ok so I watched that video you posted. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What was that first scene from???????????????????????????? She was sooo upset! I wish I could tell what she was saying. I wish I could read lips. I know she did some guest appearance on Law and Order, so I wonder if that was it. Like as though she were being interviewed as a victim or something and she was upset. Maybe someone else on these boards will know what it's from. Here it is as a clickable link:
