Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Enrique Iglesias

Apart from Darren Hayes, I have never ever seen the tables turn so dramatically on a singer. Six years ago he was one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, and now look at him!
Why did people lose interest in him?
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every moment of it.

Thats honestly a good question..i mean he released an album last year but i guess it just didnt do anythihng for the public. My only guess is maybe either he hasnt made that second "hero" or his style of music isnt as popular right now. idk. i personally loved him and his music.

Hey, good point. I totally forgot abob68ut him until I read IMDb's birthday list on the main page. I'm thinking, "Oh yeah, Enrique! What ever happened to him?"

Strange, I thought "Do You Know" was a pretty big hit last year, but maybe I am wrong

A person's popularity on the charts are always changing. You can have many selling albums and being very succesful one day and the next day you could be a total flop. The music industry is a tough and complex business and there are many several new artists coming out, so its a common thing which usually happens to most artists.

Maybe he has just chosen to remain icognito for awhile? I'm quite a bit older probably most of the posters on this thread but have to say the music industry has changed drastically since I was a teen. Either he's taken a hiatus or he hasn't got the material. I'm sure he doesn't need the money so good luck to him to be able to live as he pleases for awhile if that is the case.

Yes i agree, im an older poster to, but i think hes trying to tap into a more youth orientated market with his latest albumn, kind of crossing over to hip hop, he has akon, pitbull and usher on some of the tracks.
I thing its seems quite a common thing in the music biz at the moment, look at emimen /rihanna?
                  and i think its cool
