i have just come to get to start to watch er but i was just wondering if Laura Innes really useds that cane thing in real life?

Out of curiosity, would it matter if she did? I'm an actor with a mobility impairment and I'm interested in the viewers perceptions of actors portraying disability in film and television.

She had surgery in one of the episodes and now she does not have to use the cane anymore.

She actually had a hip replacement earlier this year. 11 years of "pretending" to be disabled took its toll on her in real life.

She had to go to the chiropracter alot because her hips were off balance because of always having to hold herself up. She had to go through alot of pain from using the cane.
