If anyone's seen "Hey Dude" from the old Nickalodeon, David Brisbin was Mr Ernst. I was looking through Hey Dude's cast list to see if they'd done anything else. Laura Innes was one of the notable guests on the show. It was a surprise to learn that she was on that old kids show, and an even bigger surprise to find that they were married.
Oh, what IMDB cant do 😛

if im not mistaking on the episode of er when her mother shows up, the reason y she said she uses a cane is because of a birth defect.

Congenital Hip Dysplasia if I remember correctly. Basically a malformation of the hip joint that is present when the kid pops out (or is C-sectioned out). It can lead to pain and osteoarthritis by early adulthood. It's predominant in girls (check), first born children (check) and babies born in the breech position (okay, we don't know this one for the character).

the crutch makes her more sympathetic, vulnerable and coarse.. i'd have preferred her in a more heartfelt way, even just off the wall, or ironic at times.

She does NOT have dyslexia!!! Some crazed fan posted that on this board and no matter how many times I have asked the mod to remove it, they won't! She has apparently said in an interview a long time ago that she is ambidextrious (can write with both hands although she uses her right usually). Some fan obviously got confused and posted that she is dyslexic. Maybe before posting things on IMDB the mods should CONFIRM that something is indeed true! That's one thing that drives me crazy about this site. I NEVER believe a word posted on here until I confirm it elsewhere from a more official and reliable source. They shouldn't just let any fan post things here. Makes this site useless

                            I THIRD THAT.
Although in the episode I just watched "Homecoming" Weaver put her crutch to good use, beating appart two fighting boys.
