    Hiya Mark!
What sort of music do you typically listen to?

I love jazz, soul, and rock as well. I like most forms of music as long as it moves me and has a nice rhythm that I can get into. 🙂

I can't believe I used to like pop music lol, but about ten years ago it started getting on my nerves. I guess that happens with age. Never heard Arianna Grande sing or the other current big names.

Pop is alright, but I draw the line at country music. I can handle it in very small doses, but in Texas, it's literally EVERYWHERE, so it's difficult to avoid hearing it at times.

I don't mind it, but I can see it being too much if everywhere.
I've been on a nostalgic kick lately and listening to 80s pop. There were so many great bands back in the day.

Same here, but mostly for 90s music. Yeah, everything is so autotuned nowadays that actual talent isn't a requirement anymore. Lol

Autotune makes my brain spasm. I hate the sound of it. There's only one single exception and that is when Cher sang
                  Believe.
At the time, it was novel, and she still managed to maintain her style. Other than that, nope. What sucks is that there are so many artists using it, especially certain genres, that everyone and everything sounds the same after a while.

Yep. Studio execs are like - "she/he has the look but can't sing". The music producers then take the no talent hacks into the studio and autotune the crap out of everything.
The only saving grace is that, rather than wasting money on buying that garbage, they are downloading it and streaming it on YouTube and similar platforms. Sucks for the artist, but not the consumer.

I think I told you before, but I had a friend who was married to a guy who would routinely play with George Clinton. Talk about great music!

No, you didn't, but that's amazing! When did he play for George? What's it during his P-Funk era?

Yes ma'am. He'd also bring them over for private parties.
