Why does anyone care he traded BJ's for food?

My respect for him went up to a whole new level when he opened up about it. He said it wasn't just about the Hollywood ladder, he was experimenting with his sexuality. The guy obviously has a strong sense of who he is. I don't think he cares that much whether people like him for it or not. He was just being honest.

No, I don't think that this ought to cast a negative impression on Thomas Jane
because food is sometimes important to nurture life.
But it does make you wonder how many times he'd have to brush his teeth
before doing anything with the food. -

Why didn't he whore himself out to women instead of men I wonder like he does in Hung? He's a good looking guy, I'm sure there are lots of women that gladly would have paid for his services. Unless he likes dudes of course (or maybe both?) then it's totally understandable. Either way I got no problem with it. It's his mouth, he can use it in any way he wants (in my opinion) as long as it's with another adult and it's consentual.

well, apparently he never did trade any BJ's for food lol.
The Fix posted another interview with Thomas Jane.
"Do you help runaway prostitute kids because you relate to their experiences? I read the LA Times story where you talked about exploring your sexual identity and how you werent averse to going down to Santa Monica Boulevard and letting a guy buy me a sandwich when you were broke and living in your car. Were you a gay prostitute, the way all those stories said you were?
No, I never said that. But I do work with the prostitute kids now.
So you were misquoted?
Yeah, definitely. In the interviews that I did, I never said I was a prostitute. I was talking about my [early] time in Hollywood: I said that Id had a sexually adventurous time and I was trying to relate that to how I play a prostitute on TVtrying to relate my experience to my characters experienceand well, people heard what they wanted to hear. Things fly around."

It was admittedly disillusioning to hear about that and more so that he declared it so brazenly in an interview. But then I considered that he is an actor. Actors are not the roles they are in. In other words, his personal life and history is none of my business and I'd just prefer to focus on his movies.
